Gilbert M. "Broncho Billy" Anderson (born Maxwell Henry Aronson; March 21, 1880 – January 20, 1971) was an American actor, writer, film director, and film producer, who was the first star of the Western film genre. He was a founder and star for Essanay studios. In 1958, he received a special Academy Award for being a pioneer of the film industry. Early life Anderson was born Maxwell Henry Aronson in Little Rock, Arkansas, the sixth child of Henry and Esther (Ash) Aronson, both natives of New York. His younger sister was actress and singer Leona Anderson. His family was Jewish, his father's parents having emigrated to the United States from Prussia, and his mother's from the Russian Empire. Billy Guy Anderson (February 17, 1941 – April 11, 1996) was an American football quarterback who played professionally in the American Football League. College career Anderson played college football at the University of Tulsa. He established school and NCAA records as the starting quarterback in 1965. He led the nation in passing and total offense while setting school records for most passing yards in one game (502), most passing yards in a season (3,464), most completions for a game (42) and most passing attempts in one game (65). Completing 58 percent of his passes, he had 30 touchdown passes in 1965. He was an All-Missouri Valley Conference performer his senior season. In the 1960s, Tulsa took the collegiate passing game to a level never seen before. The Hurricane averaged nearly 318 yards in 1964, and increased that average to 346 yards a year later. Billy Dean Anderson
Billy Dean Anderson (July 12, 1934 – July 7, 1979) was an American criminal. He was jailed and paroled three times, and his 20 year crime career included armed robbery and prison escapes. He was added to the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in 1975. Despite his unlawful behavior, Anderson became somewhat of a folk hero among those in his native Tennessee, even more so after he was shot and killed by FBI officers while evading arrest. Early life Anderson was born in the Pall Mall, a community in Fentress County, Tennessee, the same Wolf River valley where World War I hero Alvin C. York hailed. Little is known about his early life. While this is reported in many articles the FBI disputes these claims and his birthplace has been unconfirmed. Gordon Harold "Bill" Andersen (21 January 1924 – 19 January 2005) was a New Zealand communist, social activist and trade union leader. Biography Andersen was born in Auckland on 21 January 1924, the youngest child of Hans (Skip) Andersen and Minnie Boneham. He was educated at Panmure School. Andersen was one of the participants in the 1951 Waterfront Lockout and the president of the Northern Drivers' Union and later the National Distribution Union. He was later the president of the Socialist Unity Party, which broke away from the Communist Party of New Zealand over the Sino-Soviet split, and he also led its successor, the Socialist Party of Aotearoa. Andersen's opposition to then National Party Prime Minister Robert Muldoon made him a household name in New Zealand during the 1970s.
