Bill Woodroffe
William J. "Bill" Woodroffe (May 13, 1933 – September 26, 2003) was a political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. He represented Saint John East in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1967 to 1978 as a Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick, Progressive Conservative member. He was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, the son of Raymond Henry Woodroffe and Lilia Helen Sewell. In 1957, he married Doreen S. Mills. He had one son and two daughters. He served as a member of the Saint John City Council. Woodroffe was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, speaker for the provincial assembly from 1973 to 1978, during the Premiership of PC Richard Hatfield. Saint John is a seaport city of the Atlantic Ocean located on the Bay of Fundy in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Saint John is the oldest incorporated city in Canada, established by royal charter on May 18, 1785, during the reign of King George III. The port is Canada's third-largest port by tonnage with a cargo base that includes dry and liquid bulk, Breakbulk_cargo, break bulk, containers, and cruise. The city was the most populous in New Brunswick until the 2016 census, when it was overtaken by Moncton.
