Bill Whaley
William Carl Whaley (February 10, 1896 – March 3, 1943) was a Major League Baseball player. He played in the outfield and was 5 foot 11 and 178 pounds. Career Whaley's Major League debut was on April 16, 1923. He played just one season in the league, as a member of the St. Louis Browns in 1923. In 23 career games, he had 12 hits with an average of .240. He had no home runs, 1 RBI, and 5 runs scored. His final career game was on October 6, 1923. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. Pinch Hitter
In baseball, a pinch hitter is a substitute Batting (baseball), batter. A run batted in (RBI; plural RBIs ) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). In baseball statistics, a hit (denoted by H), also called a base hit, is credited to a batter when the batter safely reaches or passes first base after hitting the ball into fair territory with neither the benefit of an error nor a fielder's choice. In baseball, a run is scored when a player advances around first, second and third base and returns safely to home plate, touching the bases in that order, before three outs are recorded and all obligations to reach base safely on batted balls are met or assured.
