Bill S. Johnson
William Stephen Johnson (5 January 1886 – 5 October 1964) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon and Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Johnson was originally from Castlemaine and captained West Melbourne to their only VFA premiership in 1906. Fryerstown is a small town in the Goldfields region of Victoria, Goldfields region of Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. West Melbourne Football Club was an Australian rules football club which played in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). Its senior side competed in the VFA from 1878 through 1908, its peak as a club coming after it won the 1906 premiership. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind").
