Bill Moularadellis
Bill Moularadellis (born 1964) is an Australian winemaker and is the son of Greek emigrates Sarantos and Constantina Moularadellis. Bill Moularadellis is the founder and Managing Director of Kingston Estate, which is a South Australian Riverland based winery and in 2011 was elected on to the board of Wine Australia Corporation in the capacity of Non-Executive Member. Bill has held a number of positions in various wine industry bodies. These include President of the Riverland Winemakers Association and member of Horticulture Industry Development Board (1998–1999). He is a past executive committee member of the South Australian Wine and Brand Industry Association (1995–2002), has previously been Chairman (2001–2002) and is the Vice Chair of the Riverland Wine Industry Development Council. Kingston Estate
Kingston Estate was established in 1979 by Sarantos and Constantina Moularadellis, when they planted 40 acres of vines in South Australia's Riverland. This family owned winery is now in the care of son, Bill Moularadellis, who further developed the business with expansion of vineyards throughout the Riverland, sourcing grapes from farmers in Adelaide Hills, Coonawarra, Clare Valley, and Langhorne Creek. Kingston is now Australia's sixth largest winemaker in terms of tonnes of grape intake, and twelfth largest in terms of total revenue. It's Riverland winery at Kingston-on-Murray, approximately 220 kilometres from Adelaide in South Australia, produces more than a million cases of wine each year. Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot is a variety of red wine grape, principally used in classic Bordeaux blends. It ripens much later than the other varieties in Bordeaux, often too late, so it fell out of favour in its home region. When it does ripen it adds tannin, colour and flavour, in small amounts, to the blend. Petit verdot has attracted attention among winemakers in the New World, where it ripens more reliably and has been made into single varietal wine. It is also useful in 'stiffening' the mid palate of Cabernet Sauvignon blends. When young its aromas have been likened to banana and pencil shavings. Roseworthy College
Roseworthy Agricultural College was an agricultural college in Australia. It was north of Adelaide and west of Roseworthy town. It was the first agricultural college in Australia, established in 1883. It is now part of the University of Adelaide. History Establishment Roseworthy College was the result of an initiative to develop a model farm. The idea was that the college would be an extension of the University of Adelaide and would be run by a Professor of Agriculture. The connection with the University was dropped and in 1882 John D. Custance took up the directorship and in 1883 the college's Main Building was completed. Custance may have been an effective manager but antagonized powerful politicians, and was sacked.
