William Logan (politician)
William Logan (December 8, 1776August 8, 1822) was a United States Senate, United States Senator from Kentucky. Born within the fort at Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Harrodsburg, Logan spent his early childhood in St. Asaphs Fort, receiving private instruction from his parents and tutors. He moved to Shelby County, Kentucky, Shelby County about 1798. He studied law, was admitted to the bar (law), bar, and practiced. He was delegate to Kentucky's constitutional convention in 1799 and worked as a state commissioner in siting the new Barren County, Kentucky, Barren County's seat of government (at Glasgow, Kentucky, Glasgow, a new settlement probably named for the Scottish hometown of Logan's father) the same year. Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball
The Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team is part of the University of Iowa athletics department. The Hawkeyes have played in 28 NCAA Tournaments, eight NIT Tournaments, won eight Big Ten regular-season conference championships and won the Big Ten tournament three times. Iowa has played in the Final Four on three occasions, reaching the semifinals in 1955 and 1980 and playing in the championship game against the University of San Francisco in 1956. Iowa basketball was widely successful in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s with a program resurgence under Lute Olson and the tenures of George Raveling and Tom Davis. Under Olson, the Hawkeyes won their last Big Ten regular season championship and went to the 1980 Final Four. Bill Logan (basketball)
William Logan (December 30, 1934 – January 25, 2018) was an American basketball player. He is best known for his college career at the University of Iowa. Logan came to the Iowa Hawkeyes from Keokuk High School in Keokuk, Iowa, where he was an All-State player. As a Hawkeye, Logan was a part of what would become one of the school's top recruiting classes, the “Fabulous Five” (along with classmates Carl Cain, Sharm Scheuerman, Bill Seaberg and Bill Schoof). The group started for three seasons, taking the school to its first two Final Fours in 1955 and 1956. Logan was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference as a junior and senior, And in his senior season set an Iowa career scoring mark with 1,188 points (since eclipsed). Following his college career, Logan was drafted by the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association. Princeton Tigers Men's Basketball
The Princeton Tigers men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Princeton University. The school competes in the Ivy League in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Tigers play home basketball games at the Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, New Jersey on the university campus. Princeton has won six Eastern Intercollegiate Basketball League championships, 27 Ivy League championships, and the 1975 National Invitation Tournament.
