George William Hunter (born November 5, 1942) is an American former executive director of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), the players' union of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also a former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins. Hunter played baseball as a child, and helped lead his team to the Little League World Series in 1955. He graduated from Delaware Township High School in Delaware Township (now Cherry Hill), New Jersey, and played college football for the Syracuse Orange. Gordon William Hunter (born June 4, 1928) is a retired American shortstop, coach and manager in Major League Baseball. Playing career Born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Hunter was listed as tall and . He threw and batted right-handed. After attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Penn State, Hunter was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1948. He was sold to the St. Louis Browns of the American League (AL) on October 14, 1952, for $150,000 after leading the Texas League in fielding and stolen bases. Hunter was the starting shortstop for the last Browns club in 1953 and the first modern Baltimore Orioles team when the Brownies moved to Maryland in 1954. For the remainder of his career, however, he was a second-string infielder for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics and Cleveland Indians. Hunter batted .219 with 16 home runs and 144 RBI in 630 games over his six-year (1953–58) AL career.

William Hunter (16 August 1900 – after 1929) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a centre half or left back. Born in Cardenden, Fife, Hunter began his football career with local club Bowhill Juniors before turning professional with Birmingham in 1921. He never established himself as a first-team player with the club, but was a mainstay of the reserve team and performed solidly when given a game in the First Division. He joined Grimsby Town in early 1927, spending only a few months with the club and making just six appearances before returning to the Midlands to sign for Coventry City. The following year he moved to Walsall, and in late 1929 moved on again, this time to Torquay United, before retiring at the end of the 1929–30 season. William Dickenson "Wild Bill" Hunter, (May 5, 1920 – December 16, 2002) was a Canadian ice hockey player, general manager and coach. Hunter was involved in hockey, Canadian football, baseball, softball and curling, but he is best known for founding the Western Hockey League (WHL), being a key player in the upstart World Hockey Association (WHA) and for his efforts to bring professional hockey to previously overlooked Western Canadian cities, especially in Edmonton and (unsuccessfully) in Saskatoon. Early years Hunter was born in Saskatoon, the first of ten children and founded his first competitive sports team when he was 18. Bill Hunter (1920 – 9 July 2015) was a Trotskyist activist in Britain and a leader of the International Socialist League. Life Hunter began his revolutionary career as a member of the Independent Labour Party in World War II, when he was a part of the circle around the ''Free Expression'' discussion magazine in that group. With the decline of the ILP, Hunter became a Trotskyist and joined the Revolutionary Communist Party in which he played a leading role in its final period.
