William David Garner (born 14 December 1947) is an English former association football, footballer born in Leicester, who played in the Football League for Notts County F.C., Notts County, Southend United F.C., Southend United, Chelsea F.C., Chelsea, Cambridge United F.C., Cambridge United and Brentford F.C., Brentford. A bustling forward (association football), centre-forward, Garner started his career in local football in the Leicester area before signing professional forms with Notts County F.C., Notts County. After only two league appearances he returned to Loughborough United F.C., Loughborough United, then signed for Southern Football League, Southern League club Dunstable Town F.C., Dunstable Town, for whom he scored 25 goals, and then Bedford Town F.C., Bedford Town, who sold him to Southend United F.C., Southend United in November 1969, for a fee of £12,000. Bill Garner (born June 17, 1940) is an American retired basketball player. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, Garner played college basketball at the University of Portland. A 6'10" center, Garner was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the eighth round (8th pick, 68th overall) of the 1962 NBA draft. Following his college career, Garner played professionally for the Long Beach Chiefs of the American Basketball League until the league ceased operations after the 1962–63 season. From 1963 to 1966 Garner played for the Harlem Globetrotters. He later played for the Anaheim Amigos Anaheim ( ) is a city in northern Orange County, California, part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 346,824, making it the most populous city in Orange County, the 10th-most ... during the 1967–68 season in the American Basketball Association.
