Bill Dinwiddie
Rashid K. Shabazz (born William E. Dinwiddie; July 15, 1943) was an American retired professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He started the 1966–67 season playing for the Columbus Comets of the North American Basketball League (NABL). Dinwiddie then signed as a free agent with the Cincinnati Royals in 1966 and began playing with the team in 1967. In 1969, he was traded to the Boston Celtics for Bob Cousy. He was later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for a sixth-round draft pick. He converted to Islam in 1971 and changed his named to Rashid K. Shabazz. He married Raushanah Shabazz and had seven children. He died on August 29, 2023, at the age of 80. Muncie Central High School
Muncie Central High School (MCHS) in Muncie, Indiana is a public high school. As of the 2013–14 school year, it had 913 students. Opened in 1868, the school is today part of the Muncie Community Schools Corp. History Opened in 1868, Muncie High School produced a first graduating class of six students. In 1881, the school was renamed Muncie Central High School, and in 1915 it moved to a four-story building on South High Street in Muncie. In the early 1920s, it was one of Indiana's first schools to adopt a mascot. In 1974, the school moved to its present location on Walnut Street in downtown Muncie. The school was originally open concept with almost no interior walls, but it has since been remodeled to a traditional format. After the 2013–2014 school year, Muncie Central merged with Muncie Southside High School to form one high school. The 1971–72 NBA season was the 26th season of the National Basketball Association. The season ended with the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA Championship, beating the New York Knicks 4 games to 1 in the NBA Finals. As the 25th anniversary of the founding of the modern NBA, the league unveiled a new logo, inspired by the logo of Major League Baseball, to commemorate the occasion. It features the white silhouette of a basketball player dribbling, framed by red and blue. Jerry West of the Los Angeles Lakers was used as the model for the logo. Coincidentally, Jerry West would win the only NBA Championship of his career during the season.
