Bill Dammann
William Henry ("Wee Willie") Dammann (August 9, 1872 – December 6, 1948) was an American left-handed Major League Baseball pitcher. A native of Chicago, he played for three seasons in Major League Baseball, all of them with the Cincinnati Reds. His major league debut was in and he last appeared in the Majors in . In his three seasons, he went 24–15 in 60 games where, starting 38 games and completing 26 with four shutouts. On July 9, 1902, Dammann, pitching for the Southern Association's Nashville Baseball Club, pitched a 5-inning no-hitter against the Shreveport Giants The Shreveport Giants were a minor league baseball team based in Shreveport, Louisiana. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. The pitcher is often considered the most important player on the defensive side of the game, and as such is situated at the right end of the defensive spectrum.
