Bill Corr
William V. Corr (born July 21, 1948) is an American attorney and former government official. He served as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Health and Human Services in the administration of President Bill Clinton and as Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services in the administration of President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017. Early life and education Corr was born and raised in Selma, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia and Juris Doctor from the Vanderbilt School of Law. Career Corr served as counsel for the House Subcommittee on Health and the Environment of the House Committee on Commerce (later the House Committee on Energy & Commerce) beginning in approximately 1980. The deputy secretary of health and human services (formerly the under secretary of health, education, and welfare, 1953–1979, and the under secretary of health and human services, 1979–1990) is the chief operating officer of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
