Bill Berry (born 1958) is an American drummer, formerly of the band R.E.M. Bill Berry
William Thomas Berry (born July 31, 1958) is an American musician who was the drummer for the alternative rock band R.E.M. Although best known for his economical drumming style, Berry also played other instruments, including guitar, bass guitar and piano, both for songwriting and on R.E.M. albums. In 1995, Berry suffered a cerebral aneurysm onstage and collapsed. After a successful recovery he left the music industry two years later to become a farmer, and has since maintained a low profile, making sporadic reunions with R.E.M. and appearing on other artists's recordings. His departure made him the only member of the band to not remain with them during their entire run. Berry eventually returned to the industry in 2022. Bill Berry (Australian Footballer)
William Berry (born 27 June 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon, Footscray and North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). After making his way up from the Under-19s, Berry was unable to put together regular senior appearances and spent most of his time at Essendon in the reserves. The former Strathmore player went to East Fremantle for the 1978 season and when he returned to Victoria a year later he joined Footscray. Berry was a back up ruckman to Ian Hampshire in his first three years but became Footscray's first ruckman midway through the 1982 season, when Hampshire retired. William Edward Berry (born 1942) is a retired American basketball coach. Early life and college career Berry was born in Winnemucca, Nevada and graduated from Humboldt County High School in 1960. He then attended Michigan State University. From 1961 to 1964, Berry played on the Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team under coach Forddy Anderson. At Michigan State, Berry was the top team rebounder for the 1962–63 season with 184 total rebounds and 9.2 per game. Berry earned his bachelor's degree in 1965 and master's degree in 1969 from Michigan State, both in physical education. Coaching career Berry began his coaching career in 1966 as head varsity basketball coach at Highlands High School of North Highlands, California and stayed as coach until 1969. Bill Berry is the American Producing Director for The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington. Berry served as associate producing artistic director and casting director from 2002 through 2009. During that time, he directed productions of '' West Side Story'' (Seattle Times Footlight Award), Wonderful Town (Seattle Times Footlight Award), ''The Wizard of Oz'', and ''Smokey Joe's Cafe''. He will make his Broadway directing debut this summer as '' First Date the Musical'' moves into the Longacre Theatre. Bill Berry (folk Singer)
The Australian folk singer and songwriter Bill Berry (1934–2019) was born in Redcliffe, Queensland. He began singing at an early age, and his sister Marie was a singer with the National Opera Company. He joined the communist Eureka Youth League An associate of the Sydney Push in the 1950s and early 1960s, he performed with John Meredith and the Heathcote Bushwhackers, before they became simply "The Bushwhackers". He later joined New Theatre and sang with the 'Unity Singers' and other left-wing singing groups. In the mid-1960s, he returned to Queensland where he married marine biologist Claire Rudkin and helped to establish the folk-song movement there, becoming a popular solo performer. He now lives with his second wife, Hilary Burns, a renowned artist in N.S.W. William Richard Berry (September 14, 1930 – November 13, 2002) was an American jazz trumpeter, best known for playing with the Duke Ellington Orchestra in the early-1960s, and for leading his own big band. Early life and education Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Berry was the son of a bass player in a touring dance band.
