Bill Bergan (April 1, 1942 – November 22, 2022) was an American college athletics coach. A two-time NCAA championship-winning head coach with the Iowa State Cyclones track and field, he also worked with the Iowa State Cyclones Cross Country team. Cedar Falls is a city in Black Hawk County, Iowa, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 40,713. It is home to the University of Northern Iowa, a public university. History Cedar Falls was first settled in March 1845 by brothers-in-law William Sturgis and Erasmus D. Adams. Initially, the city was named Sturgis Falls. The city was called Sturgis Falls until it was merged with Cedar City (another city on the other side of the Cedar River), creating Cedar Falls. Columbus High School (CHS), also known as Columbus Catholic High School, is a Catholic high school in Waterloo, Iowa. Columbus High School is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dubuque and is part of the Cedar Valley Catholic School system. History Columbus High School opened its doors to a class of 406 boys and 431 girls on 31 August 1959, following a three-year fund-raising effort. The school's primary advocate, Father A.A. The Iowa State Cyclones are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Iowa State University, located in Ames. The university is a member of the Big 12 Conference and competes in NCAA Division I, fielding 16 varsity teams (6 men's and 10 women's teams) in 12 sports. The "Cyclones" name dates back to 1895. That year, Iowa suffered an unusually high number of devastating cyclones (as tornadoes were called at the time). The NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championship is the cross country championship held by the National Collegiate Athletic Association each autumn for individual men's runners and cross country teams from universities in Division I.
