Biljana Dekic
Biljana Dekić (born in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia) is a chess Woman International Master who has represented Australia in eleven Chess Olympiads. Chess career Dekic was a member of the national Women's Chess Team representing Yugoslavia in international women's chess tournaments. For her results, Dekic was awarded the title of Yugoslav National Chess Master. In 1988 Dekic immigrated to Australia with her husband and 2 children, becoming the strongest female chess player in Australia at the time, and later became an Australian citizen. Biljana has represented Australia in 12 Women's Chess Olympiads in 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2008, 2010,2012,2014 and 2016. Her best results were in the 30th Chess Olympiad in Manila 1992 where she scored 8/14 on board one, and the 40th Chess Olympiad in Istanbul 2012 where she scored 6/9 on the reserve board. Oceania Chess Championship
Leading chess players from the FIDE Oceania Zone 3.6 are allowed to play in the Oceania Chess Championships. The tournament is conducted by the FIDE Oceania Zone President and Oceania Chess Confederation under the auspices of the world chess federation, FIDE. History Before January 2012, the Oceania Chess Championship was scheduled as part of the FIDE World Chess Championship cycle, and winners qualified to represent the FIDE Oceania Zone at the Chess World Cup. The World Mind Sports Games (WMSG) was a multi-sport event created by the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) as a "stepping stone on the path of introducing a third kind of Olympic Games" after the Summer and the Winter Olympics". The inaugural 2008 World Mind Sports Games were held in Beijing from October 3 to 18, about two months after the Summer Olympics and one month after the Paralympics.
