Bilbao Exhibition Centre
The Bilbao Exhibition Centre (commonly abbreviated as BEC) is an exhibition centre in Barakaldo, Basque Country, Spain. The current headquarters of the Feria de Muestras de Bilbao, its facilities are located on land formerly occupied by the Basque iron company Altos Hornos de Vizcaya in the neighbourhood of Ansio in Barakaldo, in the Greater Bilbao area. These facilities, opened in April 2004, allow for high capacity international fairs with better services, infrastructure, and connections than the previous facilities in central Bilbao. The Bilbao Exhibition Centre is jointly owned by the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Biscay, Bilbao Municipal Council, Barakaldo Municipal Council and the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce. Barakaldo ( es, Baracaldo; eu, Barakaldo ) is a municipality located in the Biscay province in the Basque Country. Located on the Left Bank of the Estuary of Bilbao, the city is part of Greater Bilbao, has a population at 100,881. BizkaiBus is the name for bus services serving the province of Biscay, Spain. It is named after the Basque name of the province, ''Bizkaia''. The buses can be identified by their distinctive green (until 2009 yellow) livery. The bus network is integrated in the Barik card system. Line 2 of the Bilbao metro is a rapid transit line in Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. It runs from Basauri to Kabiezes. Its route covers the municipalities of Basauri and Etxebarri, the city of Bilbao and the left bank of the Nervión river. The line has 25 stations. Ansio is a station on line 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighborhood of Arteagabeitia-Zuazu, in the municipality of Barakaldo. The station is located next to the main entrance to the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC). The main Customer Attention Offices for line 2 are also located in this station. It opened on 13 April 2002.
