Bilall Dreshaj
Bilall Dreshaj (1910–1987), better known as Biko, was an ethnic Albanians, Albanian military leader in Kosovo and Novi Pazar in Yugoslavia. He was born in the village of Dreshaj, in the Gllogoc region in Kosovo, the part of the Ottoman Empire. During World War II he fought in the Battle for Novi Pazar against the communists and the Chetniks. World War II Bilall Dreshaj and his men were legalized to the occupier by Aćif Hadžiahmetović, Albanian Collaboration with the Axis powers, collaborationist mayor of Novi Pazar, on October 2. On October 5 Dreshaj enter the city with noise and gunfire and put themselves under command of local authorities. During ethnic and religious fighting, Dreshaj and his gang burnt and plundered woman monastery Sopoćani. Most of the nuns escaped, one that was captured was brutally murdered. The ''Hilfspolizei'' (abbreviated ''HiPo'' or ''Hipo''; meaning "auxiliary police") was a short-lived auxiliary police force in Nazi Germany in 1933. The term was later semi-officially used for various auxiliary organizations subordinated to the Ordnungspolizei as well as various military and paramilitary units set up during World War II in German-occupied Europe. Hipo 1933 Hermann Göring, newly appointed as Interior Minister of Prussia, established the Hilfspolizei on 22 February 1933 to assist regular police in maintaining order and later in handling communists in the wake of the Reichstag fire. The organization quickly spread from Prussia to other German states and Hitler endorsed it in the Reichstag Fire Decree. The units were staffed mainly by members of Sturmabteilung (SA) and Allgemeine SS wearing SA or SS uniforms with a white brassard. Milan Nedić
Milan Nedić ( sr-Cyrl, Милан Недић; 2 September 1878 – 4 February 1946) was a Yugoslav and Serbian army general and politician who served as the chief of the General Staff of the Royal Yugoslav Army and minister of war in the Royal Yugoslav Government. During World War II, he collaborated with Nazi Germany and served as the prime minister of the puppet government of National Salvation, in the German occupied territory of Serbia. After the war, the Yugoslav communist authorities imprisoned him. In 1946, it was reported that he had committed suicide. He was included in the 100 most prominent Serbs list. There have been attempts since the 2000s to present Nedić's role in World War II more positively. All applications to rehabilitate him have so far been refused by the official Serbian courts. The Battle of Novi Pazar was a battle fought between November and December 1941 during World War II, between the Chetniks and Albanian forces under Axis command in the city of Novi Pazar, Sandžak, in the German occupied Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Despite launching three assaults, the Chetniks failed to capture Novi Pazar. During World War II, the territory of Sandžak was the subject of territorial disputes between Germany, Italy, as well as the local Muslim and Albanian populations. Due to the multiple insurgent, ethnic and religious groups in the region, persecution and genocide of Serbs, Jews and Romani people characterised the conflict in Yugoslavia. Albanians
The Albanians (; sq, Shqiptarët ) are an ethnic group and nation native to the Balkan Peninsula who share a common Albanian ancestry, culture, history and language. Aćif Hadžiahmetović
Aćif Hadžiahmetović ( sr-cyr, Аћиф Хаџиахметовић, sq, Aqif Haxhiahmeti; 1887 – 21 January 1945), known as Aćif Bljuta ( sq, Aqif Bluta, sr-cyr, Аћиф Бљута), was an Albanian politician in the Sanjak of Novi Pazar region of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the interwar period and during World War II. In the interwar period he was mayor of Novi Pazar and a deputy of Džemijet following the 1923 elections. After the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia in April 1941, he was appointed mayor of Novi Pazar under the German military government of the Territory of the Military Commander in Serbia and in 1943–44 was a deputy of Mitrovica in the Albanian parliament. He was also a member of the central committee of the Second League of Prizren.
