Bijibal
Bijibal Maniyil is an Indian music composer and playback singer who works predominantly in Malayalam films, documentaries, short films and television commercials. He has composed for more than 150 feature films, several documentaries and television commercials. Career Bijibal entered the film industry as a composer in 2007, with the film satirical drama ''Arabikatha'' starring Sreenivasan and directed by Lal Jose. In 2013, he won the National Film Award for Best Background Score and Kerala State Film Award for the film ''Kaliyachan''. He has also composed for several non-film Malayalam albums including ''Vasco Da Gama''. He has also often composed for short films besides directing the short titled ''Sundari'' and also composing its score. He also composed the music for the door-opening and door-closing notification system in Kochi Metro trains which continues to be in use to this date. Maheshinte Prathikaaram
''Maheshinte Prathikaaram'' () is a 2016 Indian Malayalam-language comedy drama film directed by Dileesh Pothan, in his directorial debut and produced by Aashiq Abu. The film stars Fahadh Faasil in the titular role alongside a supporting cast including Aparna Balamurali, Anusree, Alencier Ley Lopez and Soubin Shahir. Written by Syam Pushkaran, the story is based on an incident in the life of Thampan Purushan from Thuravoor, Cherthala. Shyju Khalid was the film's cinematographer, and the music was composed by Bijibal. ''Maheshinte Prathikaaram'' development began in 2013, when Pothan was working as an associate director for Abu (who was directing ''Idukki Gold'', co-written by Pushkaran). Pushkaran suggested a story idea to Pothan which was based on an incident in his native village. ''Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum'' () is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language crime drama film directed by Dileesh Pothan and written by Sajeev Pazhoor. Pathemari () is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language period drama film written and directed by Salim Ahamed and starring Mammootty in the lead role, with a supporting cast that includes Jewel Mary, Siddique, Sreenivasan, Salim Kumar, Shaheen Siddique, Viji Chandrasekhar, and Joy Mathew. The plot follows the life of Pallikkal Narayanan (Mammootty) who migrated to the Middle-East in the early 1960s, when the Kerala Gulf boom was just beginning. The National Film Award for Best Music Direction (the Silver Lotus Award) is an honour presented annually at the National Film Awards by the Directorate of Film Festivals to a musician who has composed the best score for films produced within the Indian film industry. The award was first introduced at the 15th National Film Awards in 1967. At the 42nd National Film Awards, an award for "Best Background Score" was instituted.
