Big Zulu
Siyabonga Nene (born 7 April 1986), known professionally as Big Zulu, is a South African rapper, songwriter and actor. He rose to spotlight after releasing the single "Donsa Nkabi" in 2016. He signed a record deal with Universal Music in 2015 and Zulu released his debut album, ''Ushun Wenkabi'' (2018) and '' Ungqongqoshe Wongqongqoshe'' (2019). Zulu's third studio album '' Ichwane Lenyoka'' (2021), spawned three chart-topping singles " Mali Eningi", "Inhlupheko" and "Umuzi eSandton". Its lead single "Mali Eningi", was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). Zulu also appeared in the television shows ''Isibaya'', ''One Mic'' (2017-2020), ''Uzalo'' (2020) and ''Isithembiso''. Bergville
Bergville is a small town situated in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It was established as Bergville Mountain Village in 1897 and is now the commercial centre for a 2,500 km2 dairy and cattle ranching area. A blockhouse was built by the United Kingdom, British soldiers in the town during the Second Boer War Bergville is equidistant from Johannesburg and Durban and is also known as the gateway to the Northern Drakensberg holiday resorts. It lies on Route R74 road (South Africa), R74, which is a more scenic alternative to the N3 (South Africa), N3 Toll Road. This route takes one via the Oliviershoek Pass, traditionally used to access the Drakensberg, from Johannesburg. Refiloe Maele Phoolo (born 16 December 1990), professionally known as Cassper Nyovest, is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, record producer and amateur boxer. Born and raised in Mahikeng, North West, he is regarded as one of the most successful artists in South Africa. In 2014, he established his own record label, Family Tree Records. Nyovest rose to fame with the release of his debut studio album, ''Tsholofelo'' (2014) which produced the hit singles "Gusheshe" and " Doc Shebeleza". ''Idols'' is a television show on the South African television network Mzansi Magic, and previously on M-Net, based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in South Africa. The general format of the show is that thousands of hopeful performers from across South Africa audition in front of the judges. They are narrowed down to approximately 100 to enter the theatre rounds. They perform in group and solo rounds until 16 finalists are chosen by the judges (usually 8 males and 8 females). Idols South Africa (season 17)
The seventeenth season of South African '' Idols'' premiered on 11 July 2021 and concluded on 21 November 2021 on the Mzansi Magic television network. The season was won by Berry Trytsman and the runner-up was Karabo Mathe. The season saw judge Somizi Mhlongo being asked to "take time off" from the show to deal with domestic abuse allegations against him.
