Big Red is the mascot of the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. According to his official biography, he "hatched" on October 4, 1998. He's also 6 foot 4 inches, has a 7-foot wingspan. He is one of the most recognizable mascots because of his appearance. He is at every home game, and became their mascot on October 4, 1998. The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Cardinals compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) West division, and play their home games at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, a suburb northwest of Phoenix. Super Bowl XLIII was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champions Pittsburgh Steelers and the National Football Conference (NFC) champions Arizona Cardinals to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2008 season.
