Big God (album)
''Big God'' is a 1991 studio album by Christian music vocal group The Imperials and is their second album released on the Star Song label. The personnel line-up for this album consists of Armond Morales, David Will and two new singers Jonathan Pierce (who was credited on the album by his birth name Jonathan Hildreth. Pierce is his middle name.) and, in an Imperials first, Armond's sister Pam Morales. Morales would be the first and only female member of the group. Morales and Pierce replaced Ron Hemby and David Robertson whom both previously appeared on the 1990 album '' Love's Still Changing Hearts''. Jason Beddoe was with the group temporarily but he left the group while in the midst of recording ''Big God'' so Armond brought Pam to fill in for Beddoe. This line-up would stay on until their next album ''Stir It Up'' (1992). ''Big God'' peaked at number 22 on the ''Billboard'' Top Christian Albums chart. The Imperials
The Imperials are an American Christian music group that has been active for over 55 years. Originating as a southern gospel quartet, the innovative group would become pioneers of contemporary Christian music in the 1960s. There have been many changes for the band in membership and musical styles over the years. They would go on to win four Grammys, 15 Dove Awards and be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Jonathan Pierce
Jonathan Pierce Hildreth, better known as Jonathan Pierce (November 15, 1967—May 9, 2020), was an American CCM, gospel singer from Odessa, Texas and an interior designer in Nashville. Pierce used his first and middle name while omitting his last name for career purposes. Music career Pierce began singing in church at age seven and took voice lessons from age nine. Following his graduation from high school, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he sang with the Christ Church Choir. Naomi Judd introduced him with The Imperials, who offered him a spot. He was with them for three years (1990–93), until he was offered a position with the Gaither Vocal Band. He remained with them for three years (1994–97). Pierce released several albums on Curb Records. CCM AC Chart
CCM AC chart was an adult contemporary chart that was originally started by ''CCM Magazine'' in 1978. According to author Jeffrey Lee Brothers in his book ''Hot Hits: AC Charts 1978 – 2001,'' "When ''CCM'' published music charts, it received data from a specific number of radio stations regarding the number of times a song was played. This airplay data was then assigned points and weights based on the cumulative number of plays per song. The result was a weekly chart that ranked the most played, and presumably, most popular songs. The AC charts have long covered the most radio stations in the Christian music industry. The charts themselves have gone through several changes over the years. When ''CCM'' first published its radio hits charts, AC was not a recognized format. What is today considered adult contemporary was then covered under the title of contemporary hits. Stephen Marcussen is the founder and chief mastering engineer at Marcussen Mastering in Hollywood, California, United States. He has been mastering music since 1979. Biography Marcussen's introduction to music recording happened in 1976 when, at the age of 19, he was offered a janitor position at Studio 55, record producer Richard Perry's Los Angeles recording studio. At Studio 55, Marcussen received an education in all facets of music recording and sound production. By the end of his Studio 55 tenure, he had earned his first album credits as an assistant engineer, working on The Manhattan Transfer's ''Pastiche'', Boz Scaggs's ''Middle Man'', and The Pointer Sisters's ''Special Things''. Eric A. Darken is an American percussionist, composer, and programmer. Biography Drawing inspiration from his grandfather, a band leader. Darken began playing drums at age 12, and played timpani and mallets in high school. Darken attended Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina, then transferred to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Darken was also a part of the ORTV Richard Roberts television show. David Hungate
William David Hungate (born August 5, 1948) is an American bass guitarist noted as a member of the Los Angeles pop-rock band Toto from 1976 to 1982 and again from 2014 to 2015, and the son of judge William L. Hungate. Along with most of his Toto bandmates, Hungate did sessions on a number of hit albums of the 1970s, including Boz Scaggs's ''Silk Degrees'' and Alice Cooper's '' From the Inside''. Career Hungate played on Toto's first four records, including the Grammy award-winning album ''Toto IV''. He left the band shortly after its release for a career as a session musician in Nashville. Hungate, who plays many instruments including guitar, trombone, trumpet, drums, and piano, has arranged, produced and recorded with several country artists such as Chet Atkins. Brent Rowan
Brent Rowan (born May 28, 1956 in Waxahachie, Texas) is an American session musician and record producer who works primarily in country music. Active since the 1970s, Rowan began working with John Conlee through the recommendation of record producer Bud Logan. Rowan first played on Conlee's "Friday Night Blues", and later became the only guitarist for Conlee's recordings. He also played guitar for Alabama, Alan Jackson, Chris LeDoux, Clay Walker, Confederate Railroad, and others. In 1989, Rowan was awarded Guitarist of the Year by Academy of Country Music. Richard Francis (Rick) Vito (born October 13, 1949, in Darby, Pennsylvania, United States) is an American guitarist and singer. He was part of Fleetwood Mac between 1987 and 1991. Vito took over as lead guitarist after Lindsey Buckingham left the group. He is best known for his blues and slide guitar style, whose influences include Elmore James, Robert Nighthawk, B.B. King, Alvino Rey, Les Paul, George Harrison, and Keith Richards. Billy Smiley (born October 19, 1957) is a music producer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known for being one of the core members of the Christian rock band White Heart. He was the bands' guitarist, vocalist, and one of the main songwriters since 1982. After selling over 2 million albums with White Heart, Smiley turned to music production and artist development.
