Big Creek (Lake Erie)
Big Creek is a watercourse in Norfolk County, Ontario. It is approximately long. It empties into Lake Erie, at Port Rowan, at Long Point. Its watershed covers , alternately . The largest municipality it flows through is Delhi, Ontario. North Creek joins it there. Venison Creek joins downstream of Walsingham. The creek is the largest watershed in the Long Point Region. Small dams riddle the watershed. Three of the larger reservoirs are the Teeterville Reservoir on Big Creek, the Lehman Reservoir on North Creek, and the Deer Creek reservoir. Eco-tourists visit the creek, including boating excursions, to sample its examples of Carolinian forest - rare for Ontario. Canoeing down Big Creek is generally done between May 15 and September 15. Norfolk County, Ontario
Norfolk County is a rural single-tier municipality on the north shore of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario, Canada with a 2016 population of 67,490. Despite its name, it is no longer a county by definition, as all municipal services are handled by a single level of government. Paris (2021 population, 14,956) is a community located in the County of Brant, Ontario, Canada. It lies just northwest from the city of Brantford at the spot where the Nith River empties into the Grand River. Paris was voted "the Prettiest Little Town in Canada" by ''Harrowsmith'' Magazine. The Long Point Biosphere Reserve is located in southern Canada on the shores of Lake Erie in Norfolk County. The area encompasses a rich mosaic of ecological systems associated with erosion deposit sand spit formations around the Laurentian Great Lakes, as well as some of the largest remaining forest tracts in "Carolinian Canada".
