Big Comic Superior
is a semimonthly seinen manga magazine published since July 1, 1987 by Shogakukan in Japan. Its target audience is somewhere between the audience for ''Big Comic Original'' and ''Big Comic Spirits''. The magazine has published works by a number of well-known manga artists, including Ryoichi Ikegami, Mochiru Hoshisato, Yū Koyama, Yūji Aoki, Fumi Saimon, Norifusa Mita, George Akiyama, and Buronson. ''Superior'' was originally a special issue of ''Big Comic Original'', published twice monthly on the 1st and 15th. However, since it was selling just as well as the main three magazines (''Big Comic'', ''Big Comic Original'', and ''Big Comic Spirits''), it began to be released every other week. It is currently released twice monthly on the second and fourth Fridays. As of 2015, ''Superior'' has a reported circulation of 115,334 for each issue.

Seinen Manga
is an editorial category of Japanese comics marketed toward young adult men. In Japanese, the word ''seinen'' literally means "youth", but the term "''seinen'' manga" is also used to describe the target audience of magazines like ''Weekly Manga Times'' and ''Weekly Manga Goraku'' which cater specifically to men's interests, and are marketed towards a demographic of young adult men between the ages of 18 and 40. Buronson
, known by the pen names and , is a Japanese manga writer. Making his debut in 1972, he first found success with the hardboiled detective manga series ''Doberman Deka'' (1975–1979) alongside illustrator Shinji Hiramatsu. He is best-known for creating the post-apocalyptic martial arts series ''Fist of the North Star'' (1983–1988) with artist Tetsuo Hara, which is one of the List of best-selling manga, best-selling manga in history with over 100 million copies in circulation. Aji Ichi Monme
is a Japanese cooking manga series written by Zenta Abe and illustrated by Yoshimi Kurata. The series chronicles the lives of the staff and customers of a restaurant called Fujimura, owned by veteran chef Kumano. It was published by Shogakukan in ''Big Comic Superior'' from 1986 to 1999. After the death of Abe in 1999, other series have been released with other writers. The sixth series, ''Aji Ichi Monme: Tsugi Aji'', began in 2018. Riichiro Inagaki
is a Japanese mangaka, manga writer from Tokyo. He started his career in 2001 publishing works for Shogakukan's magazine ''Big Comic Spirits''. After three one-shot (comics), one-shots, he moved to Shueisha's ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'', in which he started the work he is best known for, ''Eyeshield 21''. In collaboration with the artist Yusuke Murata, ''Eyeshield 21'' was serialized between July 2002 and June 2009 in ''Weekly Shōnen Jump''. Natsume Arata No Kekkon
