Big Calibre
''Big Calibre'' is a 1935 American Western film produced by Supreme Pictures and directed by Robert N. Bradbury. It premiered on March 8, 1935. The film features Bob Steele as Bob O'Neill, a stockgrower who, seeking vengeance for his murdered father, goes after the murderer, crazed scientist Otto Zenz (Bill Quinn). Plot Rancher Bob O'Neill's father is gassed to death by lunatic Otto Zenz. In a bid to avenge his father, Bob tracks the scientist down, and they eventually have a showdown in the dry plains. Otto F. Hoffman (May 2, 1879 – June 23, 1944) was an American film actor. He appeared in almost 200 films between 1915 and 1944. He was born in New York City and died in Los Angeles, California, from lung cancer. Hoffman's Broadway credits include ''The Strange Woman'' (1913), ''The Spring Maid'' (1910), and ''A Broken Idol'' (1909). He was also active in stock theater productions. American actor Bob Steele (Robert North Bradbury Jr. January 23, 1907December 21, 1988), and his twin brother Bill were the sons of film director Robert N. Bradbury. The twins began their acting career in the silent film ''The Adventures of Bill and Bob'', directed by their father, and continued in a series of Bradbury Sr.'s film shorts. Art Mix (born George Washington Kesterson; June 18, 1896 – December 7, 1972), was an American character actor from the 1920s until the mid-1940s. Biography Prior to becoming an actor, Mix worked as a circus performer and a boxer. He initially appeared under his real name, Kesterson, before being given his stage name by Victor Adamson. Adamson calculated that a cowboy named "Art Mix" would be associated somehow with western superstar Tom Mix, and that small-town exhibitors who could not afford Tom Mix's expensive films would be likely to use cheaper films marketed with the lesser "Art Mix" brand name. Contract problems led Mix to leave Adamson and begin working for producer J. Charles Davis. Art Mix appeared in over 200 film shorts and feature films. Although most of his roles were in smaller and bit parts, he would sometimes be cast in a featured role, such as in 1932's ''Border Devils'', starring Harry Carey.
