Big Brother (magazine)
''Big Brother'' was a skateboarding magazine founded by Steve Rocco in 1992, which was notable for ushering in street skating and the sub-culture of skateboarding. ''Big Brother'' ceased publication in 2004. No subject was taboo. Early articles featured step by step ways to commit suicide and rip-off schemes such as how to make a fake ID. They would often use odd gimmicks like printing the magazine in different sizes, packaging it in a cereal box, and throwing in items like trading cards and a cassette tape. Early writers were Sean Cliver, Earl Parker (Thomas Schmidt), Jeff Tremaine, Marc McKee, Mike Ballard, Pat Canale, and others. They also released a few videos, including "Shit", then "Number Two", with a few stunts and pranks, but the videos were mostly skateboarding-oriented. Rick Kosick
Rick Kosick (born May 25, 1967) is an American photographer and cinematographer. He is a crew member, and supporting cast member of the '' Jackass'' TV series and the four '' Jackass'' movies. Early career Kosick started out as a freelance photographer for ''Poweredge'' and ''Slap'' skateboarding magazines and built up fame as a skateboard photographer. His photography also caught the attention of the rock band Deftones who contracted Kosick to shoot the cover art to their album ''Around the Fur''. David Ross Carnie (born December 14, 1969) is an American writer, magazine editor, and skateboarder. He is the former editor-in-chief of '' Big Brother'' and current writer for numerous publications. Writing career Carnie writes freelance and has had articles published in ''Rolling Stone'', ''Hustler'', ''The Skateboard Mag'', ''Snowboard Magazine'', and '' Bizarre''. Carnie also helped co-write a couple of short films with Spike Jonze (whom he met through fellow ''Big Brother'' editor Jeff Tremaine). Brandon Cole "Bam" Margera ( ; born September 28, 1979) is an American former professional skateboarder, stunt performer, television personality, and filmmaker. He rose to prominence in the early 2000s as one of the stars of the MTV reality stunt show '' Jackass'' and subsequent sequels. Pepper spray, oleoresin capsicum spray, OC spray, capsaicin spray, or capsicum spray is a lachrymatory agent (a compound that irritates the eyes to cause a burning sensation, pain, and temporary blindness) used in policing, riot control, crowd control, and self-defense, including defense against dogs and bears. Its inflammatory effects cause the eyes to close, temporarily taking away vision. This temporary blindness allows officers to more easily restrain subjects and permits people in danger to use pepper spray in self-defense for an opportunity to escape. Devo (, originally ) is an American rock band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1973. Wigstock
Wigstock was an annual outdoor drag festival that began in 1984 in Manhattan's East Village that took place on Labor Day. Continuing, with a few gaps, until 2005, the festival would traditionally act as the unofficial end to the summer for the gay community of New York City.
