Big Brother (UK)
''Big Brother'' is the British version of the international reality television franchise '' Big Brother'' created by producer John de Mol in 1997. Broadcast yearly from 2000 to 2018, and due to return in 2023, the show follows the format of other national editions, in which a group of contestants, known as "housemates", live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. They are continuously monitored by live television cameras and personal audio microphones. Throughout the competition, housemates are "evicted" from the house by public televoting. The last remaining housemate wins the competition and a cash prize. The series takes its name from the oppressive character known by that name in George Orwell's 1949 novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four''. Big Brother (British Series 20)
''Big Brother 2023'', also known as ''Big Brother 20'', is the upcoming twentieth series of '' Big Brother''. It will be the first series to air on ITV2 after ITV gained the rights to the series in August 2022, almost four years since it last aired on Channel 5. Production In April 2022, it was reported in several tabloid newspapers that ITV Studios were in talks with production company Banijay, who own the rights to ''Big Brother'', to revive the series in 2023, following a five-year hiatus. On 1 August 2022, during the final of the eighth series of '' Love Island'', a 20-second teaser trailer aired on ITV2, with ITV subsequently confirming that the show would return for a new series in 2023. ITV2
ITV2 is a British free-to-air television channel owned by ITV Digital Channels, a division of ITV plc. It was launched on 7 December 1998. For a number of years, it had the largest audience share after the five analogue terrestrial stations, a claim now held by its sister service ITV3 both of which are freely available to a majority of households. ''OK!'' is a British weekly magazine that primarily specialises in royal and celebrity news. Originally launched as a monthly magazine, its first issue was published in April 1997. In September 2004, ''OK''! launched in Australia as a monthly title – the magazine went weekly in October 2006. In 2005, a US version was launched, followed by an Indian edition in May 2006, a Spanish-language version in Mexico in 2006, a Bulgarian-language version in 2007 and a Spanish edition in 2008. OK! E4 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation. The "E" stands for ''entertainment'' and the channel is primarily aimed at the 16/18–34 age group (similar to BBC Three, ITV2, 5Star, Sky Max, Sky Comedy, Comedy Central and Dave). Programmes currently shown on the channel include ''Hollyoaks'', ''Made in Chelsea'', ''Coach Trip'' (and its Halloween spin-off ''Celebrity Ghost Trip''), ''Celebs Go Dating'' and various versions of ''Married At First Sight''. ''Big Brother 2018'', also known as ''Big Brother 19'' was the nineteenth series of '' Big Brother'', and the final series to air on Channel 5. The series launched four days after the final of ''Celebrity Big Brother 22'' on 14 September 2018 and lasted for 53 days with the final ever episode airing on 5 November 2018. The series is the eighth regular and twenty-third series of ''Big Brother'' to air on Channel 5 since 2011; it was also the final series of ''Big Brother'' in the three-year contract that was announced on 19 March 2015, which guaranteed that the show would air on Channel 5 until 2018. On 14 September 2018, it was confirmed that this series would be the final series to air on Channel 5. Channel 5 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel launched in 1997. It is the fifth national terrestrial channel in the United Kingdom and is owned by Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American media conglomerate Paramount Global, which is grouped under Paramount Networks UK & Australia division. During ownership by the RTL Group, it was branded as Five between 16 September 2002 and 13 February 2011. Richard Desmond purchased the channel from RTL on 23 July 2010, announcing plans to invest more money in programming and return to the name Channel 5 with immediate effect, and it was relaunched on 14 February 2011. ''Ultimate Big Brother'' was the final series of the UK reality television programme ''Big Brother (UK TV series), Big Brother'' to air on Channel 4. The series was produced by Remarkable Pictures, a division of Endemol. ''Ultimate Big Brother'' was an All-star#Television, All Star edition of the ''Big Brother'' series - featuring memorable housemates from previous series of ''Big Brother'', and ''Celebrity Big Brother (UK TV series), Celebrity Big Brother''.
