Big Bang (Waltari Album)
''Big Bang'' is the fifth studio album by the Finnish avant-garde progressive metal band Waltari, released in 1995. The album produced two singles, both with promotional videos: ''Atmosfear'' and ''The Stage''. These singles are two of the three Waltari compositions to reach the top 20 in the Finnish charts. Atmosfear peaked at 6 and The Stage at 15. The album itself reached a high of 7 in the national charts and was their second most successful album. Reception At sputnikmusic.com the album received 4.1 out of 5. Allmusic.com also rated it as 4 out of 5. At rateyourmusic.com one reviewer likened them to a poor imitation of Faith No More with only two songs worthy of note. Other reviews are more positive. Joiking
A joik or yoik (anglicised, where the latter spelling in English conforms with the pronunciation; also named , , , or in the Sámi languages) is a traditional form of song in Sámi music performed by the Sámi people of Sapmi in Northern Europe. A performer of joik is called a (in Finnish), a (in Norwegian, and anglicised) or (in Swedish). Originally, ''joik'' referred to only one of several Sami singing styles, but in English the word is often used to refer to all types of traditional Sami singing. Angelin Tytöt
Angelit, formerly known as Angelin tytöt (''Aŋŋel nieiddat''), is a Finnish Sámi folk music group formed by sisters Ursula and Tuuni Länsman in 1989. However, the history of the group can be traced back to 1982 when Eino Ukkonen, Ursula and Tuuni Länsman's Finnish teacher, took them along with some classmates to sing at a Sámi festival held at Utsjoki. In 1987 the group released their first non-commercial tape, recorded together with Mari Boine. In 1989 one of the members of the group was killed in a car accident, and subsequently the group broke up. Together with Ulla Pirttijärvi, Ursula and Tuuni went on and established a group that was called "Angelin tytöt" or "girls of Angeli", named after Angeli, the village they grew up in, located in Inari in Northern Finland. Ulla sings in their first album "Dolla" and has made a successful solo career after leaving the group. Tomi Koivusaari
Tomi Koivusaari (born 11 April 1973) is the current rhythm guitarist and former vocalist of the Finland, Finnish metal band Amorphis. He started playing at the age of 12, his first band was Violent Solution formed in 1987, with him on guitars and vocals, Esa Holopainen on guitars and Jan Rechberger on drums. The band played thrash metal, recorded a demo and an EP. He also formed a death/doom band called Abhorrence (Finnish band), Abhorrence in 1989, and recorded a demo and an EP. Both bands broke up in 1990, but Tomi was not a member of Violent Solution since he formed Abhorrence. In 1990, Tomi was hired to be in Amorphis. In 2006, Tomi was briefly in the band ''Ajattara (band), Ajattara'', under the name "Samuel Lempo". The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Singing is the act of creating musical sounds with the voice. A person who sings is called a singer, artist or vocalist (in jazz and/or popular music).
