Al Anderson (NRBQ)
Alan Gordon Anderson (born July 26, 1947) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. In the 1960s, Anderson was the frontman of the band The Wildweeds, which had success with the song "No Good To Cry", which he wrote. Between 1971 and the early 1990s, he was the lead guitarist in the rock band NRBQ, also releasing several solo albums. He also played electric guitar on Jonathan Edwards's 1973 album '' Have a Good Time for Me''. In the 1990s, Anderson shifted his focus to country music, writing hit songs for such artists as Carlene Carter, Vince Gill, Diamond Rio and Trisha Yearwood, as well as Tim McGraw's number 1 hit "The Cowboy in Me" and several album cuts. Big Al's was one of the first Toplessness, topless bars in San Francisco and the United States since the mid-1960s. It was the first nudity, bottomless bar in San Francisco. It is next to the Condor Club, where the strip-club phenomenon began; and as of 1991, claimed to be one of the largest porn stores in San Francisco. The adult book store closed its doors in 2009. It was later replaced by a sandwich store, and is currently a cigar shop. Both businesses kept the venue's name and iconic neon sign. Big Al is the costumed elephant mascot of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. History The origin of the mascot dates back to 1930. On October 8, 1930, a sportswriter for the ''Atlanta Journal'', Everett Strupper, wrote about the previous weekend's Alabama- Ole Miss football game. He wrote, "That Alabama team of 1930 is a typical oach WallaceWade machine, powerful, big, tough, fast, aggressive, well-schooled in fundamentals, and the best blocking team for this early in the season that I have ever seen. When those big brutes hit you I mean you go down and stay down, often for an additional two minutes." Big Al Brewing
Big Al Brewing was a brewery in White Center, Washington, United States. It was started in August 2008 by Alejandro Brown with a Belgian-style wheat beer and an Irish red ale. The brewery is located in Pacific Rim Brewing's former facility. It features a tasting room and lounge. As of 2009, the beer was available at over 70 bars and restaurants in the Puget Sound region. Since Brown began brewing at home himself, Big Al Brewing has produced beers from the winners of contests in an effort to promote home brewing. The brewery has also partnered with the Emerald City Supporters to release a beer for fans of Seattle Sounders FC. The brewery closed down in 2018. is a singing voice synthesizer software product. Its signal processing part was developed through a joint research project led by Kenmochi Hideki at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain, in 2000 and was not originally intended to be a full commercial project. Backed by the Yamaha Corporation, it developed the software into the commercial product "Vocaloid" that was released in 2004. The software enables users to synthesize "singing" by typing in lyrics and melody and also "speech" by typing in the script of the required words. It uses synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics.
