Bielke is the name of an ancient and powerful Swedish noble family, originally from Småland. History The family was wirst mentioned in the 13th century. It is the second-oldest such family still in existence after Natt och Dag. The comital family branch, descended from the first Count Nils Bielke af Åkerö (1644–1716), is still extant, while the baronial branch became extinct in the male line with the death of Johan Ture Bielke in 1792.Carlsson, G. Carl Gustaf Bielke
Carl Gustaf Bielke (1683–1754) was a Swedish count and book collector. He was the son of Nils Bielke, and he is known for his collection of more than 8,000 books, which later became part of the Skokloster Castle library after the collection passed to his nephew, Erik Brahe. Bielke's collection focused on books related to medicine, theology, and law, many of which were obtained during his travels in France or from auctions in Uppsala and Stockholm during the 1730s and 1740s. Donald P. Bielke (born May 10, 1932) is a retired American basketball player. He played collegiately for the Valparaiso Crusaders men's basketball, Valparaiso Crusaders. He was selected by the Fort Wayne Pistons in the 8th round (67th pick overall) of the 1954 NBA draft. He played for the Fort Wayne Pistons (1955–56) in the National Basketball Association, NBA for 7 games. After his NBA playing days, Bielke went on to coach basketball at California Concordia College for 16 years, and at California Lutheran University for another ten, winning over 550 games in his collegiate coaching career. He also was a professor in the kinesiology department. Bielke was a coach and instructor at California Lutheran University for over ten years. René Bielke (born April 9, 1962) is a German former ice hockey goaltender. Bielke played for EHC Dynamo Berlin (now Eisbären Berlin) from 1980 to 1992. His goals against average of 1.17 in 1982 is still unbeaten in Eisbären history. He later played for EC Ratingen and the Krefeld Pinguine. After retiring in 1997 he made a one-game return for Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the Oberliga during the 2004-05 season. Gentleman of the Bedchamber was a title in the royal household of the Kingdom of England from the 11th century, later used also in the Kingdom of Great Britain. A Lord of the Bedchamber was a courtier in the Royal Household; the term being first used in 1718. Gustav III (29 March 1792), also called ''Gustavus III'', was King of Sweden from 1771 until his assassination in 1792.
