Bieke Depoorter
Bieke Depoorter (born 1986) is a Belgian photographer. The relationships she establishes with her subjects lie at the foundation of her practice. Depoorter is a member of Magnum Photos and has published the books ''Ou Menya'' (2011), ''I am About to Call it a Day'' (2014), ''As it May Be'' (2017), ''Mumkin. Est-ce possible?'' (2018), ''Sète#15'' (2015), and ''Agata'' (2021). She has won the Magnum Expression Award, The Larry Sultan Award, and the Prix Levallois. She is one of four shortlisted for the 2022 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize. Early life and education Depoorter was born in Belgium. She received a master's degree in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent in 2009. Fotomuseum Den Haag
The Fotomuseum Den Haag (The Hague Museum of Photography) is a museum in the field of photography in The Hague. The museum was founded in 2002 as part of the Kunstmuseum Den Haag and works closely with the Print Room of the Leiden University Library. Building The museum is located next to the Kunstmuseum The Hague in the Schamhart Wing (1961-1962) designed by the architects Sjoerd Schamhart and J.F. Heijligers. This exhibition wing was built as an extension of the Haags Gemeentemuseum. The Photo Museum was expanded from 400 to 1,000 square meters in 2016 at the expense of GEM for contemporary art museum, also located in the building. Fotomuseum Winterthur is a museum of photography in Winterthur, Switzerland. History The museum was founded in 1993 and is dedicated to photography as art form and document, and as a representation of reality. The Telefónica Building, in Spanish ''Edificio Telefónica'', is a skyscraper in Madrid, Spain. It is located in Gran Via 28. At the time of construction it was the tallest European skyscraper with 89 m of roof height, until in 1940, when the Terrazza Martini Tower opened in Genoa. History The Telefónica Building was designed by Ignacio de Cárdenas, who conceived it after a previous study of Lewis S. Weeks in Manhattan. Even though the building is of American inspiration, Cárdenas touch can be felt in its churrigueresque exterior ornamentation, a nod to Madrid Baroque architecture. Its construction started in 1926 and it was fully completed in March 1929, despite opening its doors officially on 1 January 1930. The NRW Forum Wirtschaft und Kultur (Forum NRW), formerly the Museum für Industrie und Wirtschaft, is a museum in Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, dealing with the development and the economy of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia or regions within it, such as the Rhine-Ruhr-region. Fotomuseum Antwerp, also known as FOMU, is a museum of photography in Antwerp, Belgium. History and programme The museum opened in 1986. The Fotomuseum in Antwerp has a historical and contemporary collection of photography that is given a new presentation every year.
