''Bidugadeya Bedi'' () is a 1985 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by Dorai–Bhagavan, based on the novel of the same name by Ta Ra Su. The film stars Anant Nag and Lakshmi. The film's score and songs were composed by Rajan–Nagendra. Plot Despite her father's objection, a young and beautiful daughter of a millionaire elopes with a poor man and faces lots of hardship. Dorai–Bhagavan
Dorai–Bhagavan were an Indian filmmaking duo consisting of directors B. Dorai Raj (died 2000) and S. K. Bhagavan (born 1933), active mainly in Kannada cinema. They directed fifty films, most of which starred Dr. Rajkumar, Rajkumar and were highly successful at box-office. Twenty-three of those films were based on novels. Bhagavan has been principal of Adarsha Film Institute, Bangalore. Film career S.K Bhagavan was born on 5 July 1933. He completed his schooling in Bangalore High school. Dr Anant Nagarkatte (born 4 September 1948) is an Indian actor whose predominant contribution has been in Kannada cinema. He has acted in over 300 films which include over 200 Kannada films as well as Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and English films. Lakshmi (actress)
Mahalakshmi (born 13 December 1952), known professionally as Lakshmi, is an Indian actress known for her works primarily in the southern film industry (distributing her acting career in almost each Dravidian language equally), along with some Hindi films. She made her film debut through a Tamil film '' Sri Valli'' in 1961. Her debut as an actress happened with the Tamil film '' Jeevanaamsam'' in 1968. Rajan–Nagendra
Rajan–Nagendra were an Indian musical duo who were prominent composers of film music in Kannada and Telugu cinema from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. Rajan, along with his brother Nagendra, created a niche for themselves for nearly four decades. The duo scored music for about 375 films, over 200 of them in Kannada and the remainder in other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu, Hindi and Sinhala. Umashri
Umashree (born 10 May 1957) is an Indian actress and politician. She is known for her portrayal of film roles spoken in the Kannada language (over 400), particularly comic roles. She received National Film Award for Best Actress for her role as Gulabi in the 2008 Kannada movie Gulabi Talkies. Vasundhara Devi (born 16 August 1939), known by her stage name Kanchana, is an Indian actress who worked in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films, in addition to Malayalam and Hindi films. Early life and Career Kanchana was born as Vasundhra Devi on 16 August 1939 in Madras, Tamil Nadu of India to a Telugu-speaking family. Her father suffered business losses, and she went to work as an air hostess to support her family, when she was discovered by a friend of film director C. V. Sridhar on a plane where he was a passenger, who later suggested her to him.
