	Harry Bidgood Henry Bidgood (29 August 1898 – 15 November 1957), was an English composer, dance band leader and musical director for films. Born in West Ham,1911 Census London, England in 1898,. his father was music teacher and composer Thomas Bidgood. The family moved to Harringay in North London when Thomas was about 10 years old. He studied at the Royal College of Music. In the 1920s Bidgood was the assistant organist at the Electric Coliseum in Harringay. Bidgood released dance band music under various names, mostly notably Primo Scala and his Accordion Band, who issued over 200 sides on 78rpm. Over the course of 20 years, he would frequently broadcast on the BBC. In 1930, he and his band covered '' Amy, Wonderful Amy'', a song about Amy Johnson. Bidgood was also the musical director for numerous films, including several starring George Formby. 	James Bidgood (politician) James Mark Bidgood (born 25 May 1959) is an Australian former Labor politician who served as a member of the House of Representatives for the seat of Dawson, in north Queensland, from 2007 to 2010. He was elected at the November 2007 federal election, defeating the sitting Nationals member, De-Anne Kelly, in a major upset. Kelly was not thought to be in any danger going into the election; she had gone into the election sitting on a seemingly safe majority of 10 percent. However, in one of the biggest swings of the election, Bidgood picked up a swing of over 13 percent (initially calculated as 16 percent) amid the Labor wave that swept through Queensland. 	James Bidgood (filmmaker) James Alan Bidgood (March 28, 1933 – January 31, 2022) was an American filmmaker, photographer and visual and performance artist, known for his highly stylized and homoerotic works. Life and career James Alan Bidgood was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin, and grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. He moved to New York City in 1951. His artistic output embraced a number of media and disciplines, including music, set and window design, and drag performance. In time, his interests led him to photography and film and it is for this work that he is most widely known. Highly recognizable, his photographs are distinguished by an aesthetic of high fantasy and camp. 	Ruth Bidgood Ruth Bidgood (née Jones; 20 July 1922 – 4 March 2022) was a Welsh poet and local historian who wrote in English. Life and career Ruth Jones was born at Blaendulais, Seven Sisters, near Neath, Wales, on 20 July 1922. Her mother, the former Hilda Garrett, was a teacher. Bidgood's Welsh-speaking father, Rev William Herbert Jones, became vicar of St Mary's Church, Aberavon, where Ruth was brought up. She was educated at a grammar school in Port Talbot, and went on to read English at St Hugh's College, Oxford. During World War II, she served in the Wrens as a coder, at Alexandria in Egypt. After the war, Bidgood worked in London helping to prepare a new edition of ''Chambers's Encyclopaedia'', but eventually she and her husband, David Bidgood, whom she had married in 1946, moved to Coulsdon in Surrey. 	Sally Bidgood Gillian Sally Bidgood (13 April 1948, in Corbridge – 18 March 2018, in Hammersmith) was a British botanist and plant collector noted for her study of the flora of Ethiopia, Zambia, and Tanzania, particularly ''Bignoniaceae''. She attended Ackworth School (1959-1965), Haydon Bridge Technical School and then Froebel College, Roehampton. Bidgood worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew from 1973 to 2008, and over the course of her career took part in gathering over 13,000 specimens of African plants, describing at least two dozen species. She was also active as a trade unionist, being both a branch secretary and branch chair for Prospect at Kew. 	Thomas Bidgood Thomas Bidgood (7 October 1858 – 1 March 1925) was an English conductor, composer and arranger. Life Thomas Bidgood was born in Woolwich, Kent. His father was William John Bidgood, a master plumber, and his mother was Jane Bidgood, née Williams. His early musical training included learning the violin at the London Academy of Music, taught by Signor Erba, and singing in the church choir. He also learnt a number of wind instruments after going to concerts given by the band of the Royal Artillery. He played the althorn and E bass in the band of the 9th Kent Artillery Volunteers. While studying at the London Conservatory of Music, Bidgood won several awards for his achievements. After graduation, he worked as an orchestral conductor, teacher and composer. While working at the Beckton Gas Works, he became bandmaster of the Beckton Band of the Gas, Light and Coke Company.
