Bible Hill Junior High
Bible Hill (Mi'kmaq: Wi'kopekwitk) is an incorporated village in Colchester County, Nova Scotia. It lies on the north bank of the Salmon River, opposite the town of Truro and the unincorporated community of Salmon River. The village is home to Bible Hill Junior High School, Bible Hill Consolidated Elementary School, Colchester Christian Academy, and the Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture. The Bible Hill Estates Trailer Park has been used as a filming location for the ''Trailer Park Boys'' television series service as the Sunnyvale Trailer Park. Colchester County is a county in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. With a population of 51,476 the county is the fourth largest in Nova Scotia. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. About 900 supervisors and 31,000 field enumerators were hired to conduct the door-to-door survey of individuals and households who had not completed the census questionnaire by late May or early June. Joseph Howe
Joseph Howe (December 13, 1804 – June 1, 1873) was a Nova Scotian journalist, politician, public servant, and poet. Howe is often ranked as one of Nova Scotia's most admired politicians and his considerable skills as a journalist and writer have made him a provincial legend. He was born the son of John Howe and Mary Edes at Halifax and inherited from his loyalist father an undying love for Great Britain and her Empire. At age 23, the self-taught but widely read Howe purchased the ''Novascotian'', soon making it into a popular and influential newspaper. He reported extensively on debates in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly and travelled to every part of the province writing about its geography and people. Matthew Archibald
Matthew Archibald (1745 – January 18, 1820) was an Irish-born farmer, tanner and political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Truro Township in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1785 to 1799. He was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, the son of Samuel Archibald and Eleanor Taylor, and came with his family to Londonderry, New Hampshire in 1757. The family moved to Nova Scotia five years later. In 1767, Archibald married Janet Fisher. He was named a justice of the peace and became coroner for Colchester District in 1786. He lived at Bible Hill; Archibald is believed to have given the town its name. Bible Hill continues to celebrate a festival in Archibald's honor yearly to commemorate his birthday. Salmon River, Colchester County (community)
Salmon River is an unincorporated Canadian suburban community in central Nova Scotia's Colchester County. A suburb of the town of Truro, Salmon River is located on the south side of the Salmon River, from which it derives its name. The defining feature in the community is Canadian National Railway's Truro Yard, located in the river flood plain. Newer suburban developments in Salmon River range up the hill along the south side of the valley. Salmon River was the winning entrant in the nationwide 2006 Hockeyville contest. Deuville Rink A privately owned outdoor community skating rink was created by local resident Webb Deuville in 1958. Truro (Mi'kmaq: ''Wagobagitik''; Scottish Gaelic: ''Truru'') is a town in central Nova Scotia, Canada. Truro is the shire town of Colchester County and is located on the south side of the Salmon River floodplain, close to the river's mouth at the eastern end of Cobequid Bay.
