Biathlon World Championships 2013
The 46th Biathlon World Championships was held in Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic, from 7 to 17 February 2013. There were a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start and relay races for both men, women and a mixed relay. All events during the championships also counted for the Biathlon World Cup season. Norway took a record 8 out of 11 gold medals. Schedule ''All times are local.'' Nové Město Na Moravě
Nové Město na Moravě (; german: Neustadt in Mähren) is a town in Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 9,800 inhabitants. It is known as a winter sports resort. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Villages of Hlinné, Jiříkovice, Maršovice, Olešná, Petrovice, Pohledec, Rokytno, Slavkovice and Studnice are administrative parts of Nové Město na Moravě. Alexis Bœuf (born 4 March 1986 in Chambéry) is a retired French biathlete. First World Cup podium was in Antholz-Anterselva Individual 21 January 2010. Synnøve Solemdal
Synnøve Solemdal (born 15 May 1989) is a Norwegian former biathlete. Career Solemdal won two bronze medals at the 2010 Junior World Championships. As of the 2010/2011 season she is part of the Norwegian team. On 11 December 2010, she along with her teammates placed third in 4 × 6 km relay in Hochfilzen. She took her first world cup victory in the 2012–13 season, moving up from 4th after the Sprint race to take the Pursuit in Hochfilzen. She repeated the feat the following year to claim her second victory, also in the pursuit in Hochfilzen during the 2013–14 season. At the 2012 World Championships in Ruhpolding she won a gold medal in mix relay and a bronze medal in relay. Ann Kristin Aafedt Flatland (born 6 November 1982) is a retired Norwegian biathlete. Ann Kristin Aafedt Flatland debuted in the World Cup in 2003 at Kontiolahti in Finland, where she came in 56th in the sprint event. Andrea Henkel
Andrea Burke, née Henkel (born 10 December 1977) is a retired Germany, German professional biathlon, biathlete and the younger sister of Manuela Henkel, a successful Cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier. She trained at SV Großbreitenbach. Andrea Henkel started out as a cross-country skier but later specialised in biathlon when women's biathlon became an Olympic sport. Erik Lesser
Erik Lesser (born 17 May 1988) is a German former biathlete. In 2010, he ran his first single World Cup Race. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he won a silver medal at Men's individual. At the Biathlon World Championships 2013 he won a bronze medal with the German team in Men's relay. His grandfather Axel Lesser competed in cross-country skiing for East Germany at the 1976 Winter Olympics.
