Biaro Island
Biaro Island, an island in the North Sulawesi sea and a part of the Sitaro Islands Regency, is located off the northern extremity of Sulawesi Island, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Sitaro regency was formed under Law Number 15 Year 2007 from 2 January 2007. Biaro Island is about 90 kilometers away from the coastal of North Sulawesi. Biaro Island is not a resort or tourist island. It is remotely located with more access from Manado (on the mainland of Sulawesi) than from any other island in the regency. Sitaro Islands Regency
Sitaro Islands Regency ( id, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sitaro, although its formal name is ''Kabupaten Kepulauan Siau Tagulandang Biaro'') is a regency located off the northern extremity of Sulawesi Island in the southern Sangihe Islands, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The regency was formed under ''Law Number 15 Year 2007'' from 2 January 2007 ( id, Undang-Undang Nomor 15 Tahun 2007), by separation from the Sangihe Islands Regency of which it had previously formed the southern part. The short form of the name is formed from the those of the three principal islands — Siau, Tagulandang and Biaro. The main island is Siau Island, Siau, while further south (nearer Sulawesi) are Tagulandang and Biaro Island, Biaro. The regency's area is 275.95 km2 and the total population was 63,801 at the 2010 census and 71,817 at the 2020 census. Most of the population are fishermen and farmers. Sulawesi (), also known as Celebes (), is an island in Indonesia. One of the four Greater Sunda Islands, and the world's eleventh-largest island, it is situated east of Borneo, west of the Maluku Islands, and south of Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago. North Sulawesi ( id, Sulawesi Utara) is a province of Indonesia. It is located on the Minahasa Peninsula of Sulawesi, south of the Philippines and southeast of Sabah, Malaysia.
