Bhumidhar Barman
Bhumidhar Barman (12 October 1931 – 18 April 2021) was an Indian Politician belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was the Chief Minister of Assam from 22 April 1996 to 14 May 1996. He was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly being elected 7 times. He was first elected in 1967. In 2015, he was made a Cabinet Minister of Assam. Early life and education Bhumidhar Barman was born on 12 October 1931 to the late Bhakat Ram Barman and the late Mathupriya Barman in Belsor. He passed his matriculation from Tihu High School in 1951. His Father, Late Bhakat Ram Barman was a well established businessman of his area. He completed his schooling Tihu High school, thereafter at Cotton Collage and finally his MBBS degree from Assam Medical Collage. Nalbari District
Nalbari (Pron: nɔ:lˈbɑ:ri) is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India. The district headquarters is located at Nalbari. History Nalbari was declared a sub division of undivided Kamrup District in 1967. The district was created on 14 August 1985 when it was split from Kamrup district. 1 June 2004 saw the formation of Baksa District from parts of three districts, including Nalbari. Lokanath Misra
Lokanath Misra (22 November 1921 - 27 May 2009) was an Indian politician. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha. He was the Governor of Assam from 1991 to 1997 and held additional charge as Governor of Nagaland from 1992 to 1993. He died on 27 May 2009 at Bhubaneswar. He was the elder son of poet and notable socialist Godabarish Mishra. Hiteswar Saikia (3 October 1936 – 22 April 1996) was the chief minister of Assam for two terms, first from 28 February 1983 to 23 December 1985 and then from 30 June 1991 to 22 April 1996. Family and education Hiteswar Saikia was born on 3 October 1936 at Bogabagh Tea Estate to Haladhar Saikia (1896-1988) in a Ahom family.
