Devaki Nandan Khatri
Devaki Nandan Khatri (18 June 1861– 1 August 1913) was an Indian writer who lived in Varanasi and wrote the historic fiction fantasy novel ''Chandrakanta (novel), Chandrakanta''. Biography He was born on 18 June 1861 in a Punjabi family in Pusa village of Muzaffarpur district of Bengal Presidency, British India (present day Bihar, India). His father's name was Lala Ishwardas. His forefathers were residents of Punjab (Lahore) and held high positions during the reign of the Mughals. Lala Ishwardas settled in Varanasi, Benaras during the reign of Sher Singh, son of Ranjit Singh, Maharaj Ranjit Singh. Khatri's early education was in Urdu-Persian language, Persian. Later he also studied Hindi, Sanskrit and English. After finishing his early education, he reached Tekari Raj in Gaya (India), Gaya and got a job with the king there. Doordarshan (abbreviated as DD; Hindi: , ) is an Indian public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, owned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and one of Prasar Bharati's two divisions. Benjamin Gilani is an Indian film, television and stage actor who works in Hindi cinema. Early life and career Gilani was schooled at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. He is a postgraduate from Delhi University having studied and taught English literature at St. Stephen's College, Delhi and studied at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune class of 1972, where Naseeruddin Shah and Tom Alter were his classmates. He founded 'Motleys Productions', a Mumbai-based theatre company in 1977, along with Tom Alter and Naseeruddin Shah, and ''Waiting For Godot'' was their first play on 29 July 1979 at Prithvi Theatre, the play was revived in 2009 for group's 30th anniversary celebrations. Kumudlal Ganguly (13 October 1911 – 10 December 2001), better known by his stage name Ashok Kumar and also by Dadamoni, was an Indian actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema and who was a member of the cinematic Ganguly family.
