Bhootayyana Mommaga Ayyu
''Bhootayyana Mommaga Ayyu'' () is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language comedy film written and directed by Nagaraj Peenya. Produced by R. Varaprasad Shetty under the banner of Sri Vaishnavi Cine Creations, the film released across Karnataka state on 4 May 2018. Starring Chikkanna as Ayyu, the film also features Bullet Prakash, Sruthi Hariharan, Prashanth Siddhi and Tabla Nani in principal roles. The film marks the 1000th acting assignment of the comedy actor Honnavalli Krishna. The film score and soundtrack is composed by Ravi Basrur and the cinematography is by Nandakumar. Although the title is borrowed from the 1974 film '' Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu'' directed by Siddalingaiah, the film's plot makes no connection with it. Actor Lokesh's son Srujan Lokesh was hired as a narrator for this film. Upon release, the film met with negative response from the critics. Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu
''Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu'' () is 1974 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by Siddalingaiah, who co-wrote the screenplay with Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar, based on Iyengar's short story of the same name from his novel, ''Vayyari.'' The film stars Vishnuvardhan and Lokesh; with M. P. Shankar, Jayamala, Rushyendramani and Balakrishna all acting in supporting roles. The film revolves around the enmity between two villagers, Ayyu and Gulla and how they mend their relationship. ''Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu'' was a 12 page short story in a compilation of stories by Gorou Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy had initially declined to give the rights to the story but eventually agreed. Though Siddalingaiah added new plot details and characters to increase the running time of the film, it retains the core premise of the original short story. D. V. Siddalingaiah (15 December 1936 – 12 March 2015) was an Indian film director, scriptwriter and producer who worked mainly in the Kannada films. He was well known for his distinct film-making style, and the industry knew him as a master of social themes and rural subject matter.
