Bhimsain
Bhimsain (born Bhimsain Khurana; November 24, 1936 – April 17, 2018) was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and animator. He is best known as the pioneer of Indian animation, along with his mentor Ram Mohan. He was the recipient of 16 President's National Awards for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is best known for directing the critically acclaimed ''Gharaonda'' (1977) starring Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab, and ''Dooriyaan'' (1979) starring Sharmila Tagore and Uttam Kumar. He is also known for creating the animation short film ''Ek Anek Aur Ekta'' (1974) which aired on Doordarshan in the 70s. Kireet Khurana
Kireet Khurana (born 25 October 1967) is an Indian filmmaker, animator, and ad-film director. Kireet joined his father's company to create '' Vartmaan''. In 2010, he made his debut with India's first feature film combining live-action and 3D animation, '' Toonpur Ka Superrhero'', starring Ajay Devgan and Kajol. He was invited subsequently to be a partner of the International Animation Consulting Group (IACG), along with Max Howard, Bill Dennis and Frank Lunn. Kireet's 2016 documentary on Indian parallel cinema auteur Saeed Akhtar Mirza, entitled ''Saeed Mirza: The Leftist Sufi'', released on Netflix. The film featured Mahesh Bhatt, Sudhir Mishra, Kundan Shah, Aziz Mirza, Pawan Malhotra and others. It was named among the top 10 documentaries of 2017 by Vogue India and The Hindu. Gharonda
''Gharaonda'' (''The Nest'') is a 1977 Hindi drama film, produced and directed by Bhimsain. The film stars Amol Palekar, Zarina Wahab, Shreeram Lagoo and Jalal Agha. The music is by Jaidev. Plot ''Gharonda'' explores the lives of Sudip (Amol Palekar) and Chhaya (Zarina Wahab) who belong to the middle class in Mumbai and work in the same office. Chhaya is sharing a one-room flat with her younger brother, her elder brother and sister-in law. Sudip has rented a room with three other men. Ek Anek Aur Ekta
''Ek Anek Aur Ekta'' or "One, Many, and Unity" (also known as ''Ek Chidiya, Anek Chidiyan'' after the title song) is a traditionally animated short educational film released by the Films Division of India (Government of India). It was released in 1974. It was aired on the public broadcaster channel Doordarshan and became very popular among children. Summary The film was intended to teach the value of unity and teamwork to children (Unity in Diversity). It also contains the message of how India is stronger if its citizens stand united, regardless of cultural differences. It begins with a group of children playing in a garden with one of them asking his elder sister, "Didi, yeh anek kya hota hai?", or in English, "Sis, what do you mean by Many?". Vartmaan
''Vartmaan'' is an animated television series aired on DD National during 1994–1995. It was directed and produced by Bhimsain along with animation director Kireet Khurana. This is one of the first Indian animated series produced using 3D animation ''Vaartman'' aims to teach children moral lessons on how to control one's weaknesses. The leading character, Purush (translation: 'Man'), fights against the evil Sankat (translation: 'Trouble') and his own negative emotions, and ultimately wins over his present (Vartmaan). Ram Mohan
Ram Mohan (26 August 1931 – 11 October 2019) was an Indian animator, title designer and design educator, who was also known as father of Indian Animation and was a veteran in the Indian animation industry, who started his career at the Cartoon Films Unit, Films Division of India, Government of India in 1956. He was chairman and chief creative officer at Graphiti Multimedia, a Mumbai-based animation company which was established in 1995, and later he also established the Graphiti School of Animation in 2006. He had won the National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Animation Film twice, ''You Said It'' (1972) and ''Fire Games'' ( 1983).
