Bhavani Taluk
Bhavani taluk was a ''taluk'' of Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the ''taluk'' is the town of Bhavani. In 2012, Bhavani ''taluk'' was reorganised to form the new Anthiyur taluk. It comes under Gobichettipalayam Revenue Division. Demographics According to the 2011 census, the taluk of Bhavani had a population of 461,086 with 234,352 males and 226,734 females. There were 967 women for every 1,000 men. The ''taluk'' had a literacy rate of 61.86%. In the age group below 6 there were 19,410 males and 18,204 females. After bifurcation of Anthiyur taluk, the present Bhavani taluk may have a population of 222,941 approximately. Taluk
A tehsil (, also known as tahsil, taluka, or taluk) is a local unit of administrative division in some countries of South Asia. It is a subdistrict of the area within a district including the designated populated place that serves as its administrative centre, with possible additional towns, and usually a number of villages. Bhavani is a Municipality in Erode District, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located at the northern periphery of Erode City Municipal Corporation and is around from Coimbatore and from Tiruppur and Salem. Bhavani is also known as "Carpet City" as it is known for its carpet industry; blankets and carpets manufactured in the town are known as Bhavani Jamakkalam. Mondipalayam is a village located in Bhavani taluk, Erode district, Tamil Nadu, India. The village falls under the Mylambadi panchayat. Mondipalayam of Tiruppur district is different from this. Description This village is home to about 50 families. The primary occupations are agriculture and sand quarrying. Agricultural land in this area is very fertile and crops like ground nut, corn, sugar cane and turmeric grow well. Most of the families are affiliated to the Kongu Vellala Gounder community, a sect under Hinduism. A large lake with waters touching the brim is the pinnacle to the wellbeing of the villagers.
