Bhakti Barve
Bhakti Barve (10 September 1948 – 12 February 2001) was an Indian film, theatre and television actress in Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati. She is best known for her role in Kundan Shah's comedy ''Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'' (1983), where she acted alongside Naseeruddin Shah, Satish Shah and Ravi Baswani. In theatre, which was her mainstay, she was associated with leading groups like Theatre Unit, Indian National Theatre, and Rangayan, and is remembered for performances in plays like ''Ti Phularani'', ''Nag Mandala'', ''Aayee Retire Hote Aahe'' and ''Hands Up''. She was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in Marathi theatre Acting in 1990 by India's National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, apart from Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar, and Abhinay Puraskar. Govind Nihalani (born 19 December 1940) is an Indian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter and producer, known for his works in Hindi cinema. He has been the recipient of six National Film Awards, and five Bollywood Filmfare Awards. In 1996, his script for ''Drohkaal'' was adapted by Kamal Haasan for its Tamil remake, '' Kuruthipunal'', which subsequently became India's official entry for the 68th Academy Awards Best Foreign Language Film category. ''Pygmalion'' is a play by Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, named after the Greek mythological figure. It premiered at the Hofburg Theatre in Vienna on 16 October 1913 and was first presented in German on stage to the public in 1913. Its English-language premiere took place at Her Majesty's Theatre in the West End in April 1914 and starred Herbert Beerbohm Tree as phonetics professor Henry Higgins and Mrs Patrick Campbell as Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle.
