The Eurovision Song Contest 1984, the 29th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, following the country's victory at the with the song "Si la vie est cadeau" by Corinne Hermes. Turkey took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1984. The country was represented by a music group named Beş Yıl Önce, On Yıl Sonra with the song "Halay", written by Ülkü Aker and composed by Selçuk Başar. Before Eurovision 8. Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması Türkiye Finali The final took place on 25 February 1984 at the TRT Studios in Istanbul, hosted by Başak Doğru. Ten songs competed and the winner was determined by an expert jury. According to the regulations the winner had to get at least 15 points. Çetin Küçükarslan, better known by his stage name Çetin Alp (21 June 1947 – 18 May 2004), was a Turkish singer. Life He was born in Malatya. Alp married three times, the first of which was to Ergül Kuğuoğlu. From this marriage he had twin daughters Fulya and Filiz (b. 1970) and son Ahmet (b. 1976).
