Beyza
Beyza ( fa, , also Romanized as Beyzā, Bayḍā, Beyẕā, and Bayzâ; also known as Tall-e Beyẕā, Tal-e Baiza, Tol-e Beyẕā, and Sepīdān) is a city and capital of Beyza County, Fars Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 3,593, in 845 families. Etymology Beyza's ancient name was Nesayak or Nesa. Linguists derive this name from the Parthian word ''Ns'yk'' meaning "bright, shining." Arabs during their invasion of Iran translated this name in Arabic ''Bayḍā'' which also means "bright and white." The ancient Elamite city of Anshan is sometimes believed to have been situated there. Banesh District
Banesh ( fa, بانش, also Romanized as Bānesh; also known as Bānish) is a village in Beyza District, Sepidan County, Fars Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 2,904, in 688 families. The Banesh is located 60 km north of Shiraz. Archaeology This area was occupied from the sixth millennium BC. During the Proto-Elamite period (late fourth millennium BC), the nearby Anshan became one of the main cities of the Elamite region, thanks to its location on important trade routes. Banesh period Banesh is the typesite for one of the earliest cultural phases in Iran, known as the ''Banesh period''. It is dated in 3400-2800 BC. In the Early Banesh phase, around 3300 BC, Proto-Elamite culture emerged in the Kur River (or Kor River) basin.
