Lambert Harwood Hillyer (July 8, 1893 – July 5, 1969) was an American film director and screenwriter. Biography Lambert Harwood Hillyer was born July 8, 1893, in Tyner, Indiana. His mother was character actress Lydia Knott. A graduate of Drake College, he worked as a newspaper reporter and an actor in vaudeville and stock theater. During World War I he began working in motion pictures and became a prolific director and screenwriter, working on many silent-era Westerns by William S. Hart, Buck Jones, Tom Mix and others. Often associated with producer Thomas H. Ince, Hillyer expanded into romantic melodramas and crime films in the 1920s. In 1936 he directed two chillers for Universal, the science-fiction film '' The Invisible Ray'' and the cult horror film '' Dracula's Daughter''. Frank Garnier Jaquet (March 16, 1885 – May 11, 1958) was an American actor known for playing supporting roles with his career extended from 1934 to the mid-1950s. Biography In 1925, Jaquet was part of the Summer stock cast at the Elitch Theatre. In 1934, at age forty-nine, Jaquet made his film debut in the short ''War Is a Racket''. Over the next twenty years, he appeared in over one hundred and forty films and TV episodes. Jaquet died on May 11, 1958 in Los Angeles of a heart attack at the age of 73. Morris Gertsman (17 April 1907 – 13 December 1999) was a senior-ranked cinematographer at Universal Pictures from the mid-1940s through the mid-1950s. Career Gertsman's first film of note was ''Jungle Captive''; he shot the final two Sherlock Holmes movies starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, ''Terror by Night'' and '' Dressed to Kill'', and the final Rondo Hatton vehicle, ''The Brute Man''.
