Beyond The Door (album)
''Beyond the Door'' is the seventh album by American rock band Redd Kross, released in 2019 on Merge Records. It features guest appearances by former Redd Kross member Gere Fennelly, Buzz Osborne of The Melvins and Josh Klinghoffer of Red Hot Chili Peppers, plus songs written with Anna Waronker and Kim Shattuck. Redd Kross new members include drummer Dale Crover (The Melvins) and guitarist Jason Shapiro (Celebrity Skin). ''Beyond the Door'' features nine original songs plus cover versions of the title track from the 1968 Blake Edwards/Peter Sellers comedy '' The Party'' and the Sparks 1994 dance hit "When Do I Get to Sing 'My Way'." Dale Crover
Dale Crover (born October 23, 1967) is an American rock musician. Crover is best known as the drummer for Melvins and has also been the drummer for Men of Porn, Shrinebuilder, Crystal Fairy and, for a brief time, Nirvana. He is also guitarist and vocalist for Altamont. He has toured with Fantômas (filling in for Dave Lombardo), Off!, and Redd Kross. In 2016, Rolling Stone listed him as the 69th greatest drummer of all time. Biography Melvins recruited Crover on drums in 1984 from an Iron Maiden cover band, following original drummer Mike Dillard's departure. In late 1985, Crover played bass in Fecal Matter, a band he formed with Kurt Cobain and Greg Hokanson. After Hokanson left the band, Cobain and Crover recorded ''Illiteracy Will Prevail'' on a 4-track on Easter 1986 at Cobain's aunt's home in Seattle, Washington. Russell Craig Mael (born October 5, 1948) is an American singer best known as the lead singer for the band Sparks which he formed in 1971 with his elder brother Ron Mael. Mael is known for his wide vocal range, in particular his far-reaching falsetto. He has a flamboyant and hyperactive stage presence which contrasts sharply with Ron Mael's deadpan scowling. Ronald David Mael (born August 12, 1945) is an American musician, songwriter, composer and record producer. He is the keyboard player and principal songwriter in the band Sparks which he founded with vocalist, occasional songwriter and younger brother Russell Mael in 1971. Mael is known for his quirky and idiosyncratic approach to songwriting, his intricate and rhythmic keyboard playing style and for his deadpan and low key, scowling demeanour onstage often remaining motionless over his keyboard in sharp contrast to Russell's animated and hyperactive frontman antics. Henry Mancini ( ; born Enrico Nicola Mancini, ; April 16, 1924 – June 14, 1994) was an American composer, conductor, arranger, pianist and flautist. ''Hello Young Lovers'' is the 20th album by Sparks. A continuation of the repetitious, orchestral sound of their previous album '' Lil' Beethoven'', though with a much greater emphasis on guitar and drums, It is a concept album which addresses aspects of modern love. Release ''Hello Young Lovers'' was commercially more popular than any Sparks album since the 1970s, and it reached #66 on the UK Album Chart. The album did not chart in the US. The album was released on CD and both white and pink vinyl. The CD was initially released on Gut records, and then later released on In The Red records. Two singles and an EP were released to promote the album. The first; "Perfume" was backed with an alternative version of "(Baby, Baby) Can I Invade Your Country" and a remix by Clor. "When Do I Get to Sing 'My Way'" is a song by American rock band Sparks, released in October 1994 as the first single from their 16th album, '' Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins'' (1994). It makes reference to the Frank Sinatra signature-tune "My Way" and was a top-40 hit in the United Kingdom while peaking at number seven in Germany. In the US, it reached number nine on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart. In 1995, the song was re-released, this time peaking at number 32 in the UK. It's accompanying music video was directed by British music video director Sophie Muller. Sparks is an American pop and rock duo formed by brothers Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals) in Los Angeles.
