Susan Bewley
Susan Jane Bewley (born July 1958) is a British consultant obstetrician, and Emeritus Professor of Obstetric and Women's Health at King's College London. Born in Ireland and qualified from London, she specialised in complicated births and severe maternal morbidity. Her main research areas have been on severe maternal diseases and violence in pregnancy, with other work in fertility and intrapartum guidance with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). In addition, she has been involved with several charities. Early life and education Bewley was born in 1958 in Dublin, Ireland. Her father Thomas Bewley, was a psychiatrist. Her mother, Beulah Bewley, daughter of banker John Knox and the affluent heiress Ina Charles, became a dame for her work on women in medicine. William Bewley (New York Politician)
William Bewley (October 21, 1878 – November 6, 1953) was an American businessman and politician from New York. Life He was born on October 21, 1878, in Lockport, Niagara County, New York, the son of Joseph Bewley and Mary (Howe) Bewley. He attended the public schools in Lockport, and Clark's Business School in Buffalo, New York. In 1901, he married Helen Margaret Dickson (died 1921). Bewley was a member of the New York State Assembly (Niagara Co., 1st D.) in 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918 and 1919; and was Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Industries from 1916 to 1919. On November 22, 1922, he married Blanche Lovina Clark. In 1925, he established with his brother a canning factory in Middleport. He was again a member of the State Assembly in 1927 and 1928. He was a member of the New York State Senate from 1939 to 1948, sitting in the 162nd, 163rd, 164th, 165th and 166th New York State Legislatures. William Bewley
William Bewley (1726–83) was an English physician. Life A friend of Charles Burney, he was a native of Massingham,One or other of the neighbouring villages of Great Massingham and Little Massingham. in Norfolk, where he practised medicine. He made for himself some scientific reputation and was a friend of Joseph Priestley, whom he once visited at Birmingham. It is through his friendship with Dr. Burney that his name has been preserved. He is mentioned more than once in Madame d'Arblay's ''Memoirs'' of Burney, her father. We are told that on account of the simplicity of his life and the nature of his pursuits he was known as 'the philosopher of Massingham' and that he was as remarkable for his wit and conversational powers as for the extent of his knowledge of science and literature. Truman Fassett Bewley (born July 19, 1941) is an American economist. He is the Alfred Cowles Professor of Economics at Yale University. Originally specializing in mathematical economics and general equilibrium theory, since the late 1990s Bewley has gained renown for his work on sticky wages. Samuel Ryan Bewley (born 22 July 1987) is an amateur podcast host and former racing cyclist from New Zealand who last rode for UCI WorldTeam . Bewley has also competed for UCI ProTeam and BikeNZ PureBlack Racing. He has raced in nine Grand Tours, including five starts at the Vuelta a España and three starts at the Giro d'Italia.
