Beverly Boys
Beverly Boys (born July 4, 1951) is a retired diver from Canada, who represented her native country in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1968. She won a total number of three medals (two silver, one bronze) at the Pan American Games (1967 and 1971). Boys was born in Toronto, Ontario. She won two medals (one silver, one bronze) at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, two gold medals at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games, a gold medal and a silver medal at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games, and a silver medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games. Boys was inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. She was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2015. '' |

1970 British Commonwealth Games
The 1970 British Commonwealth Games (Scottish Gaelic: Geamannan a 'Cho-fhlaitheis Bhreatainn 1970) were held in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 16 to 25 July 1970. This was the first time the name British Commonwealth Games was adopted, the first time metric units rather than imperial units were used in all events, and also the first time the games were held in Scotland. Also, these games saw the first unique Games trademark logo: an emblem showing the Games emblem intertwined with a St Andrews Cross and a thistle. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC; french: Comité olympique canadien) is a private, non-profit organization that represents Canada at the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It is also a member of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO). History While Canadian athletes first competed at the Olympic Games at Paris 1900 followed by St. Louis 1904, it was not until 1907 that the IOC officially recognized a National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Canada.
