Beulah Zachary
Beulah Zachary (August 13, 1911 – February 3, 1959) was an American television director and producer. Early life and career Beulah May Zachary was born in Brevard, North Carolina on August 13, 1911, to parents William and Beulah Zachary. She attended Salem College, and intended to become a teacher. She began working in television in 1944, when she was hired by the Chicago-based station WKBK. She is most noted for being the executive producer of the television series ''Kukla, Fran and Ollie'', a puppet show which ran between 1947 and 1957. Brevard, North Carolina
Brevard is a city in Transylvania County, North Carolina, United States, with a population of 7,609 as of the 2010 Census. It is the county seat of Transylvania County. Brevard is located at the entrance to Pisgah National Forest and has become a noted tourism, retirement and cultural center in western North Carolina. American Airlines Flight 320
American Airlines Flight 320 was a scheduled flight between Chicago Midway International Airport and New York City's LaGuardia Airport. On February 3, 1959, the Lockheed L-188 Electra performing the flight crashed into the East River during its descent, killing 65 of the 73 people on board. Poor weather conditions at the destination meant that the crew had to descend through dense clouds and fog, but the aircraft flew lower than the pilots intended and it crashed into the icy river short of the runway at a speed of .
