''Between Shanghai and St. Pauli'' (German: ''Zwischen Schanghai und St. Pauli'', Italian: ''I rinnegati di Capitan Kidd'') is a 1962 West German-Italian crime adventure film directed by Roberto Bianchi Montero and Wolfgang Schleif and starring Karin Baal, Joachim Hansen and Horst Frank.Bock & Bergfelder p.131 It is also known by the alternative title ''Voyage to Danger''. The film's sets were designed by the art director Hans Berthel. Plot Carlos, Blacky and Jochen sign up after a violent bar fight on a decrepit ship, the ramshackle freighter 'Trinidad'. It turns out that the ship with its expensive cargo is about to be blown up. An insurance fraud is aimed at by the unscrupulous criminal Frederic and his accomplice Diana. Roberto Bianchi Montero
Roberto Bianchi Montero (7 December 1907 - 7 December 1986) was an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Rome, Bianchi Montero started acting as a teenager on stage and he was a member of an amateur theater group with whom he performed in several festivals. In 1930 he entered the stage company of Ettore Petrolini, and in 1934 he founded his own company. In 1936 he got his first film role, and in the late 1930s he also was assistant director for a number of films. After the Second World War, Bianchi Montero directed numerous genre films, usually low-budget productions, in which he often also collaborated to the screenplays. He particularly specialized in melodramas, Spaghetti Westerns and Commedia sexy all'italiana films. He was the father of the director Mario Bianchi. Carlo Giustini (born 4 May 1923), sometimes credited as Carlo Justini, is an Italian retired actor. Life and career Born in Viterbo, the son of a railway employee, Giustini debuted at twenty years old in ''The Materassi Sisters'', after having been chosen through an audition. William McCreery Ramsey (17 April 1931 – 2 July 2021) was an American-German jazz and pop singer, journalist and actor famous for his German-language hits. He returned to Germany a year after he had served compulsory military service with the U.S. Air Force there.
