Betty Burfeindt
Betty Burfeindt (born July 20, 1945 in New York City) is a retired American golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. She attended Cortland State University in New York and her rookie season on tour was 1969. Burfeindt won four times on tour, and her last was her only major championship, the LPGA Championship in 1976, in which she finished one stroke ahead of runner-up Judy Rankin. Her two best years were 1972 and 1973, with consecutive fourth-place finishes on the money list. Murle Breer
Murle MacKenzie Lindstrom Breer (born January 20, 1939) is an American professional golfer best known for winning the 1962 U.S. Women's Open. She competed as Murle MacKenzie until her first marriage in 1961, then as Murle Lindstrom until her second marriage in 1969. Breer was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. She joined the LPGA Tour in 1958. Her first Tour victory came in a major championship in 1962, when she defeated Jo Ann Prentice and Ruth Jessen by one stroke in the U.S. Women's Open which was held at the Dunes Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Breer enjoyed three more Tour victories in the 1960s and one mixed team win in the 1970s. She retired as a touring professional in 1984. For more than two decades, Breer has run a golf school at High Hampton Inn Country Club in western North Carolina. Clifford Ann Creed (born September 23, 1938) is a retired American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1963 and won eleven LPGA Tour events in all. Amateur career Creed was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, and started playing golf at age 11. She graduated from Lamar Tech in 1960 with a degree in physical education. She won the Louisiana State Women's Amateur six times between 1955 and 1961, and won the Western Junior in 1956. In 1962, she won the North and South Women's Amateur, the South Atlantic Amateur and was a member of the United States Curtis Cup team. She is a former Louisiana Sports Athlete of the Year. Sandra Palmer (golfer)
Sandra Palmer (born March 10, 1943) is an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1964 and won 19 LPGA Tour events, including two major championships, during her career. Amateur career Palmer was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but grew up (and first played golf) in Bangor, Maine. She attended North Texas State University where she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. Palmer attended North Texas State University, where she was runner-up in the 1961 National Collegiate Championship. While at North Texas State, Palmer joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority. The 1976 LPGA Tour was the 27th season since the LPGA Tour officially began in 1950. The season ran from January 30 to November 27. The season consisted of 31 official money events. Judy Rankin won the most tournaments, six. She also led the money list with earnings of $150,734. The season saw the first official tournaments played outside North America; the Colgate European Open in England, the LPGA/Japan Mizuno Classic in Japan, the Colgate-Hong Kong Open in Hong Kong, and the Colgate Far East Championship in the Philippines. Laura Zonetta Baugh (born May 31, 1955) is an American professional golfer, who played the LPGA Tour for 25 years. She is a published writer and golf broadcaster. Early life Baugh was born in Gainesville, Florida. Her father Hale Baugh, a lawyer who competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics as a modern pentathlete, was a very good amateur golfer, who introduced his children to golf at early ages. She won the National PeeWee Golf Championship five times, her first coming at age three. Her parents divorced when she was 11 years old, and she moved with her mother from their Florida home to Long Beach, California. Debbie Austin (born February 1, 1948) is an American professional golfer. Austin was born in Oneida, New York. She first played on the LPGA Tour in 1968 and went on to win seven tournaments, including five in 1977 when she tied with Judy Rankin for most on tour. She was named Player of the Year in 1977 by ''Golf Magazine''. She won the Wills Qantas Australian Ladies Open in 1978. A recurring tendonitis problem plagued her during 1979 and 1980, but she returned to winning form in 1981 by winning the Mayflower Classic.
