Bettws F.C. is a football club based in Bettws, near Bridgend, Wales. The team play in the . They have previously played in the Welsh Football League. Their ground, North Site, is located in the north-east of the village, east of Heol Glannant and north of Heol Richard Price. At the end of the 2019–20 season they were promoted to the South Wales Alliance League Division Two pending passing the ground inspection criteria. History Bettws FC was formed in 1995 from the amalgamation of Bettws AFC and Bettws Athletic. Bettws AFC was formed in 1957 as Bettws Welfare and played in the Llynfi Valley, Bridgend & District League and up until 1995 the Port Talbot & District League. Bettws Athletic was formed in 1981 as Bettws Boys` Club and played in the Bridgend and District League before becoming one of the founder members of the South Wales Senior League which was formed in 1990 as part of the new pyramid system formulated by the FAW. Bettws , ( cy, Betws) is a small ex-mining and farming village in the South Wales Valleys in the county borough of Bridgend, Wales. Bettws is also an electoral ward to the county council. Bryngarw Country Park is approximately one mile away, with a footpath leading there from the village. The village is around 3 miles away from Junction 36 on the M4 Motorway, and is located to the west of Llangeinor and to the north of Brynmenyn. Geography Bettws is located in the southern part of Bridgend County Borough in South Wales. It is located north of the town of Bridgend and lies on the west side of the main A4064 road. It is situated on the River Ogmore, and is watered by the Llynfi and Garw rivulets which border the village on both its sides. The Welsh Football League Division Two, (last known as the ''Nathanielcars.co.uk Welsh League Division Two'', for sponsorship reasons) was a football league and forms the fourth level of the Welsh football league system in South Wales. If the team which finishes top of the division has good enough ground facilities, traditionally it was promoted to the Welsh Football League Division One and is replaced by the team finishing bottom of Division One. The team finishing in bottom position is relegated to the Welsh Football League Division Three. For the 2019–20 season promotion was to the newly formed Ardal Leagues at Tier 3 and relegation was to one of the regional leagues.
